Board Statistics question

I have a question about the Active Users List. No matter what time limit I set on my Cutoff for Active Users, it will only display the current (exact) number of users logged in at the moment and doesn't show a history. I currently have it set for 120 minutes, and I know for a fact that more than just 4 have been on the board during that time.

For example, this board shows 63 users active in the last 15 minutes although there are only about 6 actual members logged in right now. i.e, if this were my board, it would just show 6 instead of 63. Any ideas? I've rummaged through old support posts and don't really see anything useful. Thanks!

Hey there. :)

I created a test account on your forum, and I was able to view the active users list in it's entireity. I see all eight active users & guests at the time of my click.

Are you saying that you only see the Members that are currently logged in?

Thanks, Zachie. No, we can all see the members who are logged in just fine. I guess I'm not explaining myself well. It was my understanding that "X Users Active in the last 120 minutes" means that during the last 120 minutes, X users had been logged into the board (or viewing as a guest) ... i.e., activity during the last 120 minutes even if they aren't currently on. Therefore, even if no one is logged in or viewing my board right this second, it might say "10 Users Active in the last 120 minutes" to show historical activity.

So, it seems that if it's merely an accurate count of users logged in or guests viewing right now that it should just say "X Users Active currently." In other words, what does 120 minutes (or whatever it's set at) have to do with anything? It's a tad confusing ... at least for this old brain. lol

Thanks again though, for assisting.

If a member logs out, it will no longer show them on the active users list. If they close the page without logging out, they will still be on the active users list for 120 minutes.

Does this answer your question?

Thanks for the answer, Hissae2. I still don't understand the "value added" to this feature. Perhaps it's important to boards with large numbers of users, but for our small board, it's isn't necessary and just causes confusion and redundancy. If we want to know how many members are logged in, we just look at the list of actual names. So having information regarding the number of members who may have closed the page without logging out is irrelevant.

Is there a way to disable the "X Users Active" message without removing the rest of the board statistics? If not, so be it, I suppose. ;)

Thanks for all your help. Much appreciated.
