Alrighty I have what seems to be a very simple request on the surface, but once I dig in I find myself going in circles between the same options.

Essentially what I would like is that my Member User Group (default user group once you register an account) can have access to our Recruitment forums which will have 2 subforums. One of the subforums explains things about our guild and has our application format within it. I'd like for them to be able to view both.

The other subforum is for the Member User Group to post their applications and interact with their application. The catch comes in here. I'd like to make it to where the Member User group can only view their topic in this particular subforum so things can stay more private. A little map below if it helps express my point with some more clarity.

Recruitment Forums
--Read Before Applying (Read only)
--Post your applications here (Create new topic, view and reply to own, no access outside of their own thread)

Unfortunately, you cannot set up an InvisionFree forum so that a user's topic is viewable only only by themselves unless you check no for "Can view other members topics? for their member group. This setting applies to all your forums, so the effect would be that each member would see only his own topics on the entire board. I don't think that is what you are going for.

ZetaBoards, however has the ability to provide a private topic forum of this type. At this time, this feature is being used only on the network support and resource boards, but will likely be added to the ZetaBoards options in a future update.

In the meantime, an option (though awkward) might be to create a forum (this could be a series of subforums) for each user, and then create a separate permission mask for that forum. Use the permission mask override on a members account to assign each forum to its specific user. That member will then be the only one to see or post in his private forum. [be sure to add staff groups to the permission mask or he will be talking to himself]
