Problem with site closing on iPad

I've had an iPad for 5 months. I had no problems until upgrading to iOS 5.1. I visit three InvisionFree boards and am an admin on one of them. While typing a post in any of the three, the site often closes and I lose my entry.

I've read of other Apple users complaining about apps crashing and Apple not being helpful. On the suggestion of my PC consultant, I made and appointment at the Apple store with the intention of having my iPad restored to the previous iOS 4 (I believe that is what came with the iPad 2). My thinking was that if I didn't have trouble with the earlier operating system, I would know the new one is to blame.

Apple says they cannot revert to the earlier system and that InvisionFree probably made a coding change that Safari hasn't caught up. I doubt this is the case, mostly because I felt I was being dismissed and this was an easy thing to say.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is anyone using a browser on their iPad other than Safari?

I haven't seen any other users reporting an issue like this. I'm unsure if there's anything we can do to support you.

While we wait for Apple to sort things out, you may want to take a look at Opera Mini for iPad, available in the App Store. It's not an ideal solution, but it should allow you to browse your favourite InvisionFree boards uninterrupted.

I've been using Opera Mini since Ryan's suggestion and have not had a problem with InvisionFree forums since.

Facebook and Blogger don't seem to like Opera so I am using both browsers but it has been a good solution.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the suggestion. I've had this problem while using the native Safari browser - which is a pity as I like it
