I just purchased a domain name and web hosting from www.visaweb.com , and I'm trying to get my domain name to work. I'm a noob to this, and I'm confused about this email they sent to me. It said this:

Quote:

Please make sure the domain nameservers for this domain are set to:

unix1.vizaweb.com
resolves to 69.93.28.162

unix2.vizaweb.com
resolves to 69.93.32.162

Some registrars do not require the use of the nameserver IPs, they are only provided if they are needed.

We monitor your domain for resolvement, automatically, every 8 hours.  As soon as your domain is resolving to our server, you will receive your welcome email with the needed information so you can get started.

How do I exactly do this...? :S And how would I do this to get my fourms to work on www.fourms.rollercoasterpoint.com?

Cookie to who ever helps me first!

You should have DNS controls somewhere in your account that has the domain name.

DNS 1 would be set to unix1.vizaweb.com
DNS 2 would be set to unix2.vizaweb.com

Under Cpanel somewhere?

I have no clue, the domain came free with my hosting plan. :S

DNS changes take 24-48 hours, you may need to wait.

So I don't even need to try and change things? Just let it wait and see what happens?

According to what Astheria said, that may be your best choice at the moment. :)

No they don't, your ISP might take that long, but the DNS changes within seconds, and most ISP's update withim minutes...

You need to look in your account (Not cPanel, wherever your domain is administrated) for 'Nameservers' or 'DNS' and put in your nameservers.

But TBH it doesn't even look like your domain has been registered, http://whois.sc/rollercoasterpoint.com

Was the part of the package with Vizaweb or did you buy it from a different company.

If it's with Vizaweb you'll just have to wait a while for the domain to start working with your ISP, you won't need to do anything with nameservers.

cPanel --> Subdomains;
Put in 'forums', then click add.... and try and go to that subdomain in your browser :).

You have to upload the forum.

I don't want to... :ermm:

I want to get my IF board to work under that link, just like here at the skin zone where they have it as www.forums.ifskinzone.net. I dislike php BB, and I would like to stick with my IF Forum.

PS: Thanks for the spelling mistake XD

And BonE_, no need to contribute to the topic if all you have to say is "I have no clue"

You'll need to contact your host and ask about them setting it up for you since it's done in WHM, and I don't think you've got WHM.

Go and ask ont he invisionfree forums, or search through previous posts askign what to do.
