We have a member that can't seem to get results from Sept 10th onward. I'm including the link on our board that describes her issues below. Anyone have any ideas? I can't recreate the problem. http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8737833/1/ |

I'm actually a member on your board. I tried it as a guest and then as a member and the most recent date it shows is Sep. 10th. I tried to search several common words but no difference.

Hey! I was just able to recreate the issue by searching and not picking a specific section and using the search post option. This is really weird. |

Same problem on our board, even when the specific forum is selected. The search doesn't find anything after the end of August. We did some rearranging of the forums at that time. http://s7.zetaboards.com/Worldwide_Seniors |

It's been almost 2 months since I first reported this issue here and through a support ticket in our admin section and got the reply that it was a known bug. Is there a fix in the works for this at all? The search feature is a kind of important thing.

Is there any update to this at all. The search feature was a highly used function at our board and people keep asking about it and I have to tell them I haven't had any updates to this since October when I originally submitted a support ticket through our board. That reflects worse on ZB then it does on us. |

Thanks for being patient. ![]() When this problem first appeared it was a busier than normal time for management. Between the dirty diapers, plane trips, and other personal events there hasn't been much time to do...well, anything fun! Our Support Team relies heavily on the search feature to reference past answers for support tickets. It's a feature we're missing very much right now. It shouldn't be long before our developers can return to action and start fixing some of the problems that have appeared over the past few months. We'll do our best to keep you updated as news becomes available. |

Most programmers keep a log for each program. Take a look at your log for early Sept 2012. What change could have stopped S7 from updating its search index? |

Maybe we users can help narrow down the problem. Why do some boards have it and others do not? What could be different about ones that can search and ones that cannot? Worldwideseniors on S7 has a search feature that works for posts up to Sept 25, 2012. Nothing posted after that date can be found. I think there was a software update about that time. We also did some rearranging of our forums then, changing the order of our forums and sub forums. We installed a Statcounter script. Some posts here mention a search script that helped, but didn't tell where to get the script. We have tried numerous scripts but they all have the same Sept 25 problem. If it might be something in a post on Sept 26, we could delete every post made that day to see if it helps. Could it be too many posts? I deleted a thousand old posts last night - so far no change to the Sept 25 limit. |

It's really peeving me off lately seeing other Zetaboards with the search feature working fine when our board like others is still stuck with our search feature not going past SEPT 2012! Are Zetaboards going to end up like IF Boards did with the search feature going away completely? |

Most interesting that your board's search ends in the same month as ours but on different days. Surely that is an important clue for the programmer. That probably rules out some weird post that makes the indexing fail. Are you on S7 like us? That server seems to have the most trouble - if only S7 boards have the problem, it would be a very important tip for the tech people. We have a practise board running on S1 and search works fine on it. Could its drive be too full to write all the search index files? I have pretty well eliminated the board being too large to index - it seems we deleted a lot of old posts in September so our board date got smaller just before the search featured failed. We made some changes in scripts in September. Is it possible scripts interfere with indexing? If some S7 boards have working search while others do not, then there must be something different about them causing the problem. Hey staff people, there may be something you can do without Brandon - find out if all the complaints are on S7, check the date on the search index files to see if they are updating every day, are there any error messages thrown up at indexing time, any consistent similarities among the boards with stalled search, did they all fail in late September 2012 and if so, what happened then that could possibly bear on the search feature?
