Board Address: Great Escape Board Software: ZetaBoards Description: I've seen it done in Javascript, but that's easy enough to get around by just disabling Java, so I was wondering if there was a CSS code to redirect non-members. It comes in handy having the page that tells where everyone is at a glance, but I don't like it that non-members can see the page too (even if they can't see as much info as members can). Right now I have that page "turned off" in Board Preferences to keep non-members out of it. Ideally what would be perfect would be if upon (attempted) page load, non-members were redirected back to the main page... even if they type the page address in directly. Unfortunately it's got to be done in CSS I think, to avoid the "Don't Run Javascripts" workaround. |

CSS is used for the visual representation of a webpage and HTML is basically used for the structure. JavaScript is where the dynamic effects and more come in. If this were even possible with CSS, it would probably be an ugly, nonstandard way to do it. Not to mention, CSS can be bypassed in different fashions as well. Pages that groups do not have permission to see they will not actually see, an error message will appear. |

Even redirecting someone in HTML can be bypassed as the whole page is required to load first. |

This request was deemed impractical by our staff. This could mean that the feature you have requested is impossible to write, requires PHP and/or hosting, or requires too many AJAX requests. If you have any questions about why this request is not practical, feel free to contact Moonface . |
