Description: Edit my code so it will be a news ticker for a facebook group

Hi all. I have a news ticker code embedded into my announcement box and was wondering if I can (well will be you...Thanks :) ) edit the code so it will tick the clubs facebook page for the latest x amount of posts in the page.

Is that possible?

Here is the code I currently use. (its my announcement box + newsticker)

Code:

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr>
<th style="text-align:center;font-weight:bold;">Top Section 1</th>
<th style="text-align:center;font-weight:bold;">Top Section 2</th>
<th style="text-align:center;font-weight:bold;">Top Section 3</th></tr>

<tfoot id="newsbox" style="font-family:georgia; color:darkred;">
<tr id="newsboxtext"><td class="row4" align="center" width="25%"><a href="Link To Forum">Forum Name</a></td>
<td class="row4" align="center" width="75%" colspan="2"><a href="Highlighted Topic Link">Highlighted Topic Name</a></td></tr></tfoot>

<tbody><tr><td style="width: 25%;text-align:center;height:140px;" valign="top"><a href="Link For Photo In Announcement 1" target="_blank"><img src=Photo In Announcement 1" alt="Name Of Photo In Announcement 1" style="max-height:100px;"></a></td>

<td style="width: 50%; text-align:center;height:140px;" valign="top">
<marquee direction="up" scrollamount="2" style="width:100%; height:140px;">Infor in Announcement Box 2f" width="1" height="1"></form></marquee></td>

<td style="width: 25%;text-align:center; height:140px;" valign="top"><a href="Link To Announcement 3" target="_blank"><img src="Photo In Announcement 3" alt="Name Of Announcement 3" style="max-height:140px;"></a></td></tr></tbody>

<script type="text/javascript">
$.get("http://f6oc.co.uk/forum/64059/",function(d){
var tickercontent = new Array(), nt=0;
$('.posts:not("#announcement_list") tr:has("a"):has(".c_cat-title")',d).each(function(){
tickercontent[tickercontent.length] = [$(this).find('.c_cat-title a:last').html(),$(this).find('.c_cat-title a:last').attr('href')];
});
function newsticker(){
$('#newsbox td:eq(1)').children().fadeOut('fast', function(){
$('#newsbox td:eq(1)').html("<a style='display:none;' href='"+tickercontent[nt][1]+"'>"+tickercontent[nt][0]+"</a>");
$('#newsbox td:eq(1)').children().fadeIn('fast');
if(nt<tickercontent.length-1){nt++;}else{nt = 0;};
});
};
setInterval(newsticker, 5000);
newsticker();
});
</script>

</table></div>

Does Facebook offer some type of API or script that can display that type of information on a webpage? If not, then it's not really practical.

Not entirely sure. Quick google search I found this > http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/group/

Would that be what you would need?

No that wasnt really what I was after but thanks can use that elsewhere lol.

Basically was looking for it to be in the same place as it is now and to scroll through posts 1 by 1. Thinking about it might be a bit of a stupid idea

When it comes to implementing features from major networks it's usually best to use the features they provide for you or else API's have to be worked with and a lot of coders don't like to bother with off-site API's.
