This is digital and web design

it is specifically for pictures and things related to the web

not for changing your p.c into a server

your p.c IS already a server

it has been programmed to do specific things, and you don't know

this should had been posted in general support

Er..
Probably more like general chat.
General support is pretty general, but it should still be kept to IF related stuff.

First of all, you're going to have to leave it on for about 24 hours a day, every day.

Secondly, install Apache web server http://www.apache.org

Thirdly, browse to C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\htdocs and create your whole site there, with an index page.

Lastly, find out your IP somehow and go to it on IE, http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

1) Download this file [10.4MB]. It's an auto-installer for Apache, PHP, MySQL, Perl, phpMyAdmin and Invision Board.

2) Once the server is setup, and you've specified which directory to use as the base of your server, place the files you want accessible by others in there. These can be accessed by http://localhost for you only. To allow other people to view/download your files you will need to redirect port 80 to your internal IP address so that people can access your server by http://your-external-ip/. You will also need to turn off any firewalls you are running, or edit the configuration settings of them so that access to port 80 is allowed.

All except for Invision Power Board, which has a free unlimited trial.

But yes, you could also call IPB free if you wanted. Shhh. :P
