Description: I'm looking for a code or an explanation on how to make the topic views not be counted for yourself. Say I/top creator look at my/their new thread twice, I want it to say "1 Views" instead of "2 Views" I want this to only apply to the Topic creator though.

I use a nifty little website for this called E-Zeeinternet.com. You have a range of styles and colours to choose from along with the option to count just page views of however many new visitors have viewed your website. (I'd personally use page counts, makes you look better ;) ). Hope that helps.

Thanks, but it's not really quite what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for a way to make these views only be counted as a new view by anybody except the person who created it and only be counted once by a new person.

The above image is a post I created and I'm the only one who has seen it at that time..as you can see it says 8, I want it to say 1.

It's possible to do with Cookies but let's say, for sake of argument, that I login to the same account on different PC's because I'm always out and about. That means the views go up more even if it's one person that's viewed the topic. So let's say that we do it by account only, that'll require a server and a MySQL database and that's going into hosting and PHP etc which we don't do here.

What I'm basically trying to say that yes it's possible but for it to work 100% then it would require either cookies or MySQL to run it with ever rather get filled out and I think it would even require AJAX which we've been advised to avoid. I'm no expert of course so I may be wrong.

This request has gone a lengthy period of time without any new activity, therefore it is being marked as expired. This means that the request was typically too time-consuming or irritating for coders (who provide this service voluntarily in their free time) to complete.

Thank you.
