Board Address: Great Escape (and for testing purposes: Escape Test Kitchen)
Board Software: ZetaBoards
Description: CSS control on individual Themes of appearance of Board Statistics.

What I'm hoping is possible is for someone that knows/understands CSS to be able to write something I can insert into all my themes, individually (so they will load on page load, not modify the loaded page), that will remove the Board Statistics pane/section from the bottom of the "home" page of my board ONLY if the viewer is a guest.

I know it's possible to do with Javascript, but that can easily be worked around by disabling Javascripts in one's browser preferences.

What I'm trying to describe may not be as clear as I'd like it to be, so, if you have any questions, please ask!

Thanks in advance,
Richard

How about if you made a category visible only to guests that could then be hidden based on category ID and then hide the stats by choosing the stats in the selector.

For example:
Code:

#cat-GuestVisibleOnlyIDGoesHere, #cat-GuestVisibleOnlyIDGoesHere + #stats, #cat-GuestVisibleOnlyIDGoesHere + * + #stats, #cat-GuestVisibleOnlyIDGoesHere + * + * + #stats {
display:none;
}

I suppose that could work, but I have no idea how to implement something like that. My knowledge of CSS is limited to, in Chrome, I can use the "inspect element" option to find where something is, and then monkey around with it until I get a desired result (like a different color, for example)... sometimes.

It's not too complicated. :P

First create a category for which everyone has viewing permissions. You should add the reading permission for your group so that you can get the ID, but you can remove that permission once you have the ID. It doesn't need any forums in it. Make sure it's placed as the last category, closest to the bottom of the board. Then, click the title of the category to the page where you can find the category ID. The URL will end in /forum/.../ where ... would be the ID. Then just replace GuestVisibleOnlyIDGoesHere in the code I wrote out above with that ID and it should work.
