So my board is a game guild forum, and there are several custom profile fields that users fill in when they sign up and stuff. At about the beginning of the month, I noticed, purely by accident, that several of these fields, including my own, had been reset to their default option. This only seemed to affect some members, and I could not see a pattern between them. I tried changing the ones I knew back to what they should be, but shortly after, some of them had reset again. While I was looking through this, I noticed that one member who had a custom title had lost this, and it had reverted to the default. As far as I can remember, the only thing that I had changed in the time shortly before this, was that I had created several titles. However, my custom title seems to be intact. As an extra to this, that may not be related but happened at the same time, when I tried to send out a bulk mail to make members aware of the issue, I found that the Bulk Mail sender was not including line breaks. I normally write out an email in notepad and then copy it in, without issue, however when I tried to do that this time, all line breaks were removed, creating a massive wall of text. If I try simply writing stuff in, the same thing happens. I noticed this on the preview, and have not actually sent out the message, as the original message was quite long. I do have a support ticket open for this at the moment, but I have not heard anything back since the 2nd December, when they asked for ACP access. I'm posting this here as well in the hope that it can get solved faster. |

Helena was able to explain the bulk email issue. Apparently, the wall of text is a She was also able to point out to me the post about the update that happened when I was busy playing around with the custom fields. As a result of this, and because of multiple selections, I removed all the fields, and recreated them. This hasn't resolved the problem. I have been able to work some things out though. When a user updates their profile field from the normal edit profile section, everything is fine and the changes hold. This is also true when I edit a user's profile from the normal screen. When I access user settings from the ACP, in order to change their member group, or add a custom title, the screen sets all of the custom fields to either the null value, or the 1st option on the list. While it is simple enough to reset my choices, I am unable to remember the selections for every member for every question. I have put all this in the support ticket and am hopeful that they will get back to me sooner than last time, but I thought I'd put this here as well, in case anyone has any bright ideas. |

If you've had a support ticket going since 2 December, I'd be chasing up the staff through that avenue.. Your support ticket may well have dropped down the list quite a bit by now, so sending a message through the same ticket will bump it up the list and hopefully remind them of your problem at least.. |
