I went shopping with some friends of mine today and 2 of my friends bought clothes at American Eagle and spent an insane amount of money. One bought 1 pair of jeans and 2 shirts for $107 and another bought sweatpants, a sweatshirt and 2 other shirts for $100+ (he didn't say) and then they went into Abercrombie & Fitch and there were plain shirts for $30 and polo shirts for $60!

My question is who in their right mind would spend money on this crap when they can get perfectly good shirts and pants elsewear for fractions of the price? I know it's just the fact of the brand name but it's dumb.

I shop at those places but time it right to where I catch the good sales ;)

I actually like American Eagle due to how their shirts feel and fit. I wore Old Navy for a long time but their shirts fit to small and weren't as comfortable as American Eagle. I don't go there for the brand though, its just kind of...what I like :/

But I do agree, the prices (especially when a sale isn't going on) are outrageous.

I stay away from Abercrombie due to what they stand for =/
American Eagle however: I shop there rarely, but I agree about the pricing. The shirts/jeans are nice and all, but not worth the price. Maybe I should do what Ross does...

I never get clothes from American Eagle or Abercrombie and Fitch. Why? Because I went into one of those stores, and a hoodie cost around $100! It's not like I couldn't walk into the clothing store next to it and get the same quality hoodie for about $30. It's just a rip off IMO.

I don't shop in any of those places at all. Why? It's just not my style. All their stuff is overpriced, a bit preppy, and the Old Navy commecials scare me. :'(

Their most expensive hoodys are 40-50 dollars and some of them are only $29.50

Lets not exaggerate prices that much :P

Okay maybe I exaggerated a little  , but around here I've seriously seen them go for $70. Not all of them are the high, but still.

I truly doubt AE would price them that high :ermm:

I've been shopping there for 3 years including online shopping as well as shopping in other states on vacation, etc. I really haven't seen a hoody above 50 dollars. Maybe I am wrong but to my knowledge they really don't price that high.

I pretty much live at american eagle, I dont mind the prices, i think jeans and 2 shirts for $100 is a pretty good deal...American Eagle stuff is really comfortable, always fits perfectly, and it just looks good...as for abercrombie & fitch...Well everything there costs twice as much as American Eagle and its pretty much the same stuff. I think you get what you pay for at American Eagle and its worth it :). Stores like boathouse and west49 are also a bit pricey but they have good stuff...I dunno. I really wouldnt know where to go to shop other than those stores cause I've gotten into a habbit of going there.

He probably lives in Canada, that's the going price for popular brand name hoodies.

Anyways alot of the clothes I like I can't just go buy at the local stores because I wear band shirts and they only sell tshirts with MTV bands on them >_>

So yeah I basically buy most my clothes online now.
