Mark: Apogee Message Board

I just temporarily shut down my entire message board until the Microsoft and MSN bots give it a rest. Microsoft bot, Microsoft bingbot, MSN bots, and a couple of web-bots from China have been in my user's list for the past month at all times of the day and night. So far, I've allowed them (non-members) to read certain sections of my board, but now it's gotten totally ridiculous with their snooping. My poor little board has more web-bots visiting and recording every topic than it does members who post!

I'm tired of it (web-bot and crawlers). I feel like they've become too invasive to my member's privacy, allowing any and all information they've posted in non-protected forums to be read by anybody for any purpose. :glare: Now I see that even with my board CLOSED, the web-bots are still reading my forums according to my board's home page programming. How is this possible? WHY is this possible? I've gone through the trouble of banning a few of the IP addresses, and it doesn't seem to phase them. They continue to invade my board's privacy.

I'm not certain there is an actual "ticket" for my complaint above.

So here are a few other items that can be considered a complaint staff here can address, if not a "ticket" for my board.
Since moving from the old format of InvisionFree to the newer zetaboard, my board gained some functionality, but also lost some functionality.
1. The pics in old posts no longer show-up, but are only listed as a link in the old thread posts. That's been inconvenient, and the threads have lost a lot of their meaning and personality.

2. I can't find the board's calender anymore, and it used to remind everyone of birthdays, etc... However, since moving to the new zetaboard, it doesn't function.

3. There is no explanation (even a small one) in the Admin. CP programming to explain what an AutoTool is, much less how to implement them. I dislike having to come here and search for small info, or file a ticket for even the smallest of things. It would be so much easier on me and all the staff here, to have small explanations (for each item that can be changed by owners) in the Admin. CP area of the board's program, don't you think?
I don't mind coming here to learn the big, alert-the-media kind of things, or for anything regarding the details of the programming I wish to change or find out about for my board. In the board creator section, there are small explanations for nearly everything, but to not be able to know what AutoTool is when you click on the link for it? Well, that's not cool. By the way, I now know what the AutoTool is.

I will delete my account and all affiliation with InvisionFree and it's associated companies if I can't stop these web-bots from reading my members' posts 24/7!
