split from Truth skin release topic I wonder if I can ask you one more thing...do you know any links that I can visit where I could learn about all this scripting/computer-language, etc., so as to be more self-reliant short of formal training and education? Thank you, again, Helena. And for your time and effort. |

Basic HTML and CSS knowledge will get you around most of what you need to know to customize your board style. Javascript is used to modify your layout and add additional functionality. You can find tutorials on all of those with an internet search. Since your post no longer refers to the Truth skin topic, I'm moving it to the Coding Assistance forum. You can ask more questions here if you like. [Edit: added this link that will help you find how to locate and change various areas of your skin.] http://docs.zetaboards.com/invisionfree/skinning/invisionfreecssguide |

HTML and CSS, as Helena said, are for mainly skins. There are a number of tutorials on the internet for these, namely http://codeacademy.com being the best. (I think that's the right URL, if not, do a google of code academy.) However the best way for me to learn at least CSS was to follow the skin guide made for ZB and instead of making exactly the same theme as it tells you to, make your own. It doesn't matter if it's not good the first time, mine certainly wasn't! As for JavaScript, i haven't learnt that yet, but I'm sure others can tell you good sites for learning that. Hope it helped, The |

The skin guide can be found in the docs...there is also one for IF but I've never used that one, i can only assume it's as good as the other one. |
