for me it depends on the crime, like the debet earlyer about the drunk driving, i think a person should do time for that nopt the death penalty. murder, maybe, depends on how the person was killed. like if they were rapped and killed, fry 'em, if it was a quick death, put 'em behind bars.

I say that it depends on the severity of the crime. I voted No because most people go to jail and prison for misdemeanor crimes.

Make the punishment fit the crime. If some maniac decapitates someone, let them be decapitated. Hammurabi's Code.

Murderers deserve to be killed for killing others. If they are left to live, they will only hurt more people. ;)

But they will be let go ;) Unless they're in jail for life, that's fine.

The punishment for 1st degree murder is 25 to life. Most of the really "bad" people will get life without parole.
Besides, look at OJ. As far as I know he hasn't committed any crimes in the decade or so after he committed murder.

OJ wasn't convicted of murdering someone. It was THOUGHT that he did.

I never said he was convicted, but you'd be an idiot to think that he didn't do it.

Then apparently the entire jury was full of idiots.

Why? Because we have to pay for what they inject into the person to kill them. It's expensive to kill someone. And truthfully? I don't want to be paying to kill someone. That just isn't right.

I think that the Death Penalty should be replaced with Life in Solitary... Never to see any person every again. Have a room where they can be fed and such. Just keep a single camera in there to watch over him. And let him die of old age or suicide if he tries.

A much more cruel way to be punished, as I dont believe in Heaven/Hell after death.
