Can't see if there's a topic about it or if the 'impending' update has it. The boards have what I think is an outdated Social Contact Options. MSN username... pretty much now considered Skype. Yahoo username, most people I know use gmail/outlook (hotmail) and consider yahoo the scammers email service. AIM username... who uses AIM anymore? Options I'd like to see: Country, Twitter, Skype, custom service (such as deviantart) and Generic Email. Don't define it, unless you allow us to define it with a radio button, text input or dropdown to choose which service. what would you like to see? |

I've never really thought about it; I've never really been one to share my social information with others via forums. But it's true, MSN is now outdated, and things like BBM, iMessenger, FB and Skype are taking over, so maybe adding extra fields would be a good option. But you can add your own profile fields, so things like Country and dA (which wouldn't be used by everyone) can be added yourself. |

Isn't "Country" just technically another name for the "Location" field? It seems pointless to make a new field for something that works fine with something already in profiles. |

yeah, custom fields would do it. But you've also got those fields on their that could be "defaulted" generic email/contact, nickname/prefered name. Or let the members enter which service either through text input or dropdown. dA was just an example of a custom service.
while completely missed seeing that field, my thoughts at the time was more dropdown, show flag idea in profile/posts. |
