Not sure if this is the right place to put this & I'm sure it's been mentioned before but... I would love it if you could consider updating the way Zetaboards handles posts and topics awaiting mod approval. It would be great if posts waiting approval were bumped to the top so they could be seen and if topics went to the top too, rather than at the bottom where they are easily missed. It would also be lovely if there was some indication on the index page to show how many posts were awaiting approval so that mods didn't have to check in each forum.

This is definitely the correct forum. However, I split your post from the upgrade topic into its own, shiny new topic! The upgrade topic is more for discussing the recent upgrade, and your post will likely get lost in the noise. We also have a Feedback section in your board's Admin CP where you can submit feedback like this. That allows us to collate all these suggestions in one, specific place without non–feature discussion topics. This is a great place for suggesting features or improvements and discussing them with other users, though. |

I could see queued posts fitting into the report CP since it could be a report of all posts that need to be "taken care of". |

Yes, that's a good idea. My suggestion would be to simply put the number in brackets just after the topic tally on the main index page. Small, but easy to discern which section the posts are in at a glance. Example: Topics: 7,182 (2) |

The trouble with this is that it doesn't indicate what topic has the queued posts. For a highly active forum with a lot of active topics in a single area, it would still take more time than should be necessary to locate the topics that have queued posts. |

Something should be done with the queued topics and/or posts. Perhaps a separate area just for them? Like in the IF where in Mod CP we were able to see all the queued posts and topics. |

The possibility of having queued topics/posts listed in the Report CP has been discussed by the staff - and the only thing stopping it from being an imminent feature is performance issues related to something like this. So Brandon is more than aware of the need for some solution but what it looks like and when it comes are not known right now. |

I'm sure someone could create a code that sends the URL of a single post to a topic when, after submitting the post, the post contains a `.queued` within the post. Then he/she could grab the URLs and list it in the RCP. Of course that's not how it would work if it were implemented, but isn't that the idea? |

I've wanted a better way to deal with pending posts and topics for a long time now. Especially with my guest forum being on mod approval lockdown thanks for the kitchen spammers and a harassing troll. |

You can't report your own posts..otherwise there might be a way to do this. |

It would great to be able to approve multiple posts at one time instead of the page refreshing each time a queued post is approved. |

What's the suggestion here? If your post/ topic is added to the mod queue, it should be subsequently be added to the RCP? |

That's correct, but you can certainly get the URL of a single post. Once that happens, post the URL into a topic (this would be done with $.post) and have a code that gets ($.get) that information when the user is on the RCP page. |

When your post/topic is queued you don't see it. So you don't have a post ID to send to a topic. Regardless, I don't see why you're going down this path unless you're trying to create a code for this yourself - which you could kind of do (as there is a notice the user sees - so you could send a link to the topic to the report CP in some convoluted way). But, otherwise, you're right - nothing like this conversation would be how Brandon would implement it. The performance problems that I alluded to are because of how streamlined ZB is to run thousands of boards on a single server. Which is not at all the mindset you have, but it's Brandon's reality. If a feature like this was implemented, how would currently queued posts make it into the system? Reindexing everything? Pretty server intensive. Just one small problem I can think of. That said: I've already indicated this is a feature we're more than aware of the need for, and solutions will be explored and Brandon will do something. Edited by Nicolas, Oct 1 2014, 02:54 PM.

Ah yes, I forgot you can't see the post. I'll try to work on something with the notice. |
