Hey all. Many of you may not know who I am, as I haven't been active lately on IFSZ. But I guess I am back and this is not the point of this topic, so I will stop my re-introduction now. Anyways, I wanted to ask people what they are actually looking for on the internet. I want to bring out a new site, and without your help, it's simply isn't going to happen. I have thought about bringing out a directory site, where people submit their sites to be advertised in a database type thing, and I have also thought about bringing out a graphics site. I haven't made my decision and I won't be doing that until I am sure that it is a good idea and that it won't be a waste of my time... All I ask, what have you been looking for on the internet? Do you want to see more resources, graphics, tutorials, etc? Give me everything, from ideas and suggestions to critique. I will accept anything. Also, depending on the project, I will be looking for some staff as well. I will give more information regarding staff as time passes and as I get a bigger idea of what I am choosing. Thanks all, and get posting! ![]() I just thought I'd add this to give everyone an idea of where the topic is going: Top ideas are:

It isn't really about what people want, rather what you want and what you will be dedicated to and what you are skilled/expirenced with. There are too many graphics and promotion boards out there which you will have a very low chance of success to be honest. A forum needs somthing unique to bring to a community which will attract new comers and keep the forum active. If i was to be force to say what i would like, maybe a IF Modification forum. Even tho iFusion has got many iF users there are not many out there. (Mods at iFusion). |

I understand where your coming from, however, I have tried everything that I am interested/experienced in. I have made an advertising forum, a gaming forum, a graphics forum. I want a challenge this time. So your saying that you would like to see an Invisionfree Modification forum/site? |

You dont have time?! Wierd. ANd yes try opening a services or an online community which are difficult to run unless you dont have staff. I own an online community, the link in my sig, which awaits to be seen if it's a success or not. |

I agree with that The Legend Killer. What service/online community would you like to see in particular? I am looking for a challenge, and depending what everyone is looking for is what I will undertake in. I am just hoping to get as much feedback as possible.

Oh, contrare. SZ offers the resources it does because it's what people want, and/or need. The staff both here and at most good resource forums work to get what people want. I personally would like to see a successful modification board, other than iFusion. iFusion's modification staff doesn't help new coders with modifications. I would join a modification board to learn Javascript and other modding languages. |

And to truly offer a great resource (or board) you must have a passion for it. So it's about what the people want and what you want. Not one or the other. Anyways, resources (especially InvisionFree ones) are overdone...incredibly. Resources of any kind usually have already been done, and done well. Unless you can think of some incredibly original resource, someone has already done it, and it will be hard for you to gather members/posts. What I've found to be best is providing a interesting topic/location to discuss a subject in a mature, and controlled manner. Resources are near impossible to get off of the ground nowadays. What I personally look for is an active and fun place to discuss, or do any number of things. Primarily, I think I just look for good atmospheres. Other than that, if I had some ground-breaking idea to share with you (which I don't), I would have already started a site with it myself. The best thing is to find something no one else offers. Be the first for something. That's the only way to gain a sure victory. Thing is, it is very difficult to find something that hasn't been done before. It falls under the 'invention of new colors' category. |

Be different, a lot of people are tired of looking at a "Graphics" and "Skinning" board, and so whit that, they come here, to the SZ. You have to make a forum that has a unique resource/topic so people would join it. |

Its a mixed combination really, if you make a site you dont like, your in for a tough ride, but if you make a site that other users dont like, your in for an even tougher ride. |
