It makes everything predictable because the producers rig everything to happen the way the majority of the viewers want it to, so I don't watch it. Plus, it's killing sitcoms, which are basically the same stuff over and over again now.

I actually enjoy watching reality shows. They never really get old imo, and I can relate to some of the characters.

Aggrovate me and make me throw stuff at the TV. I hate them, just proves to me how iggnorant celbreaties are, or if its a non-celeb one, how desperate some people are for fame

Reality TV is actually the opposite of reality.

One example is Survivor. Survivor is anything but reality. I like the show and will watch it sometimes, but the name "Reality TV show" just doesn't fit. If it were reality, people would be beating up the cameramen, begging for something good to eat. Not to mention there are competitions, prizes, and alliances.

It's a game show. Plain and simple.

As for how it affects me, I'd say it makes me not want to watch TV more. Some good shows that were around before are no longer because of pointless reality TV.

Trading spouses? Beauty and the Geek? Supernanny? Who watches those? Honestly? IMHO I think they are all garbage and just copycats of so many other preceding reality TV shows. And that's only three examples.

As for the good side of reality tv: The Amazing Race was my favorite but it just got repetitive. The Mole was an awesome show but I haven't seen it around in a long time. And the second half of every Survivor season is pretty good. The first half is boring. :clown:

So in the end, reality tv does nothing for me, besides letting me rant. :P

The reality shows are overdone. I watch a couple, but they never really stick.

I think they have increased suicides personally.

I hate them, maybe the odd first few were ok. but they have gone overboard with them. we need some form of new tv.

Depending on what it is, it could be good or bad. If you're watching stuff like Trading Spaces, then it's really not all that bad, but if you're watching stuff like the Surreal Life, then it's kind of brain melting.
