If flushing your local DNS cache doesn't help, you can change your DNS servers to Google's temporarily which seem to be quicker to get the changes than your ISPs. (Just tested it myself and can now resolve s7/11).

Instructions on how to do this are available here (Takes like 2 minutes): https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

Do what I did and open an IF board and then convert it.
Good luck with that. I tried to convert my invisionfree forum several months ago, and even after several support tickets it is still not converted. I finally just gave up.

You may not need to.

ZetaBoards registrations have moved servers.

Knowing next to nothing about servers, can I ask why servers 7/11 and 6/10 are linked? And if so, why they can be called individual servers?

Sorry for replying in the wrong topic if this is only for disruption of it.

"PLES RING IF AN RNSER IS REQIRD."

A "server" is technically a software term, despite its colloquial use as just hardware.
Multiple "servers" can run on a single physical machine. In our case, some (at least historically) smaller servers share a physical machine. This is commonly the case. My hosting has a web server, a database server, a mail server - these don't need to be individual physical machines.

How do we update DNS settings? Is it through the admin control panel?
DNS records are controlled through your domain registrar. We have some instructions for common registrars, but you can also consult your registrar if you are having trouble. As I said above, we are happy to help you with any problem you’re having updating your domain.

And was there a reason that the DNS info was switched? Was it a measure taken to prevent future attacks? Or was it randomly done?

We never do something that inconviences our users at random. ;)

The change in IP address was indeed part of our response to the attacks.

My site is very large, and my concern is that the same thing will happen all over again and it'll be another situation where members and guests are waiting hours for their ISP providers to catch up to the aftermath of another attack.

This was a very special case. We have endured DDOS attacks in the past (I believe server 13 suffered one on and off last year or the year before that for a few weeks) without having to take this step.

I should probably take this opportunity to remind people that this is one reason we encourage the use of CNAME records that point to the server name (s7.zetaboards.com or w11.zetaboards.com) rather than the IP address. CNAME records are not affected by an IP address change and therefore will not result in downtime for your domain. Again, we are happy to provide support for these issues through tickets (rather than this feedback topic).

From what I can tell the servers aren't down right now. It may have been a slight hiccup judging from how brief it seems to have been based on the responses I read.

Twilight is upon me, and soon night must fall.

Brandon is monitoring this now. It is the same attacker. So far the defenses are holding so it may be a minor hiccup for the moment. We'll continue to monitor it closely and update everyone if we learn more.

Just curious - if it is still being attacked but registrations for new boards have switched to a new server, I guess that means we can safely assume that it isn't solely the server being attacked but instead a particular board which just happens to be on that server?
