I'm looking for a code that will send a notification to the Report CP when a new post is made in a specific forum.

I'm using the Flexible Forum Script to send data to a specific forum and wish to get notifications sent to the Report CP for the Admins, Owner, and Strong Mods groups

It' nigh impossible as one cannot report their own post. There may be a more convoluted method but it would be prone to errors.

That's not what I meant at all.

I'm wanting to sent a notification to the Report CP (for all global mod and admin groups) when a new thread is posted in a specific forum.

The only way (that I know of) for a post or thread to appear in the Report CP is if it is reported. The only way to guarantee that a post or thread appears in the Report CP is when it is created. The only way that is possible to to have the user who created the post or thread to automatically (via JS) report their own thread, but since it is not possible for a user to report a post or thread that they created themselves then the only other option is if someone else reports it, which would be an erroneous task at best. It may be possible to check the forum at every page load via AJAX to ensure there are no new posts and then display the relevant information in the Report CP, but that would be prone to errors, as it wont be possible to ascertain which mods have already viewed which threads, unless another thread is created to store that information, using yet more AJAX requests.

Then use the PM system instead of the Report CP. Or if you must, create a new Mod CP?

How about making it use AJAX to make a reply to topics that are read so the notifications do not remain in the Report CP for every staff member that hasn't read the topic? Basically if one staff member has read the topic it will make a reply to the topic and if the topic contains replies it will not appear in the Report CP. It will only show topics with the 'unread' topic icon and contains 0 replies.

Like use a data forum or would it be adding replies to the unread topic itself?

Adding a reply to the newly read topic itself.

Adding a reply to the newly read topic itself.
Is there a way to use a data forum itself so it's not cluttering the thread?

It won't clutter the thread, it will be one reply per-thread.

Will it be like this?

Content

***1 Has seen this
***2 Has seen this
***3 Hasn't seen this

etc?

Once one staff member has replied to the topic through the use of AJAX, that essentially means the topic has been read for all staff members. There won't be more than one reply unless someone manually replies.

So if say I click on the notification that there is an unread topic you won't have a notification that there is an unread topic anymore?

That is correct.
Not really what I need. I need it to notify staff members that there is a new thread within a specific forum and keep that notification until they read it.
