I think you could play around with some different themes on Photoshop and see which colours appeal to you. The blue is very nice at the moment however. I'm personally not too convinced on the icons above the 'Send' button.

I think the buttons are not too bad, but providing me some button samples can give me ideas on how will i improve it

I'd remove the gradient at the top of the background. It feels unnecessary and does nothing to enhance the background. If you intend to have a gradient, increase the height so the gradient is more gradual and subtle.

Perhaps lower the saturation of the blue too and lower the brightness of the white just a tiny amount. Right now the entire design is so bright that it hurts my eyes.

Do you plan to make it where this chatroom can be embedded onto the board itself, or is it going to be an external link?

zChat! has multiple index versions, embed and full. embed version has a separate index file with different layout made specially for embedding on index and webpage. So zChat! can be embedded or not. this design discussion is for the full version.

Oh, we're discussing the full version that will be accessible via an external link. Never mind then, because the only reason I brought it up was because I thought we may have been discussing an embedded version and my idea was why not make it match the style of the theme, which I'm sure the embedded version will.

You just have to use classes and ID's available to you that ZetaBoards uses and use the general structure of ZetaBoards. The general structure of ZetaBoards is mostly a table with a header cell for the H2 and table cells for the content areas. Take a look at the source code for my chatrooom code to see how I did it.

Here's how I basically envision a table layout for a chatroom:
Code: HTML

<table>
<thead>
<tr>
<th colspan="2">Title Area</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>Shouts Area<td>
<td>Online List Area</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">Input/Options Area</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
