I havent really been skinning because i have no ideas for maintitle. Well lately, during my boring classes and study halls, i have been doing some sketches and finally found a good one i like. I have it done, and i love it. How do i make it glassy and shiny and stuff...right now it is flat.

grandant overlays. Darkening grads ad the bottom (black to transparent) the black part more around the middle or Lighthing with white to transparent grandant layer, the white at top For whichever you use, lower the opacity. Also, on the main layer of the grad, in the layer style, give grandant overlay, darker color on bottom for outer, and darker on top for pressed in look. Get it? |

Thanks Matt. I tried a gradient overlay. And...it is basically a whole gradient over it...>.< And the gradient goes out of the maintitle. Like...outside of the maintitle is the color of the bg of the skin. I dont want that part havin a gradient in it. >__> Domie, i just want to make it look glassy... |

Reduce the opacity level on the gradient layer. |

when you fill with the grandant, have the mt selected by wand, and have the border set to outside. Then you have a glare on the inside of the border

A Glass OSS is very simple if you don't know how to do it. Fill the whole screen, with a gradient that goes from light to dark to light. Then make a new layer, add a rectangular marquee on the top half and reduce the opacity to around 25%. Simple enough, and usually has fine results. Here's an example of one I've made from that:

Another very simply way is to select the top half of the image, fill it white and lower the opactiy of the white layer to 25%. On the original image layer use a inner shadow with 45% opactiy, 0 distance, 0 choke and about 18 size, whatever makes it look ok. |

Just get rid of the stuff outside the border when you're done. |

You could use Wisp's idea, but instead of filling it with solid white, use a white to transparent gradient and leave it on 100% opacity. Example:
