You have to make sure the group you are placing them in has Global Moderator abilities.

ACP - Users & Groups - Groups . If there isn't a group there, then make a group. Go to to the bottom of that page where it says Make New Group. Then set permissions and forum access accordingly.

When you click on a group you will be taken to that group page
Scroll down a little till you see see

Prefix [color=#HEX CODE/OR COLOR NAME]
Suffix
[/color]

If you want to use a dark blue then your going to have to use a hex code for a dark blue like #000080 , as it will not recognize shades of a specific color. If you want just a blue you can have color=blue , i use this site here to get mine HERE

Remove the #, so it's just color=darkblue (removed [ ] brackets due to BBcode)

or as Mozz said, use the hexcode which will require the #. so it'd be: color=darkblue or color=#000080

right now you have it as [color=#darkblue] which is causing the error. :)
