Brandon has quietly been working on https for several months. There are several hurdles that had to be overcome-particularly for older boards with older javascript, css, etc.

While https is more secure, it's not necessarily correct for every site. A one size fits all approach doesn't always work. As is the case of forcing https on sites like this one. So yes, this is something we've been aware of and it is something that will be addressed. But, much like other issues, forcing this on us comes at the cost of other features that have been on the list for some time. And thanks to Mozilla, it forces https to the top of the list.
Thank you for understanding & putting it in much better words then i did.

And YES https should be an option especially if IF there's a chance an administrator/creator of their own board will get locked out simply because https doesn't fit correctly on their particular board.

However having an option to go remain http or not wouldn't fix any posted links that are https even though access to the board would continue.

I also noticed Wiki stopped supporting IE8.

Anyway i was talking to an administrator on a different forum i joined a few months ago & they mentioned something called prettyurls & Protocol Relative URL.

I was told that was something that might help.

Is that a possibility ?
