Today I was thinking, what is the most important class you take in high school? Now, this question would be relatively easy if we were allowed to choose from Math, Science, English, and History. However I would like to know what everyone thinks is the most important class, aside from the core curriculum, in other words, those 4 listed above. I know some schools won’t have the classes other people list, but choose from things you are sure your school offers, so we don’t get anything to weird thrown out there :)

I’ll post my opinion on this later on ^_^

Whoa, Ross made a topic. XD

I'd have to say Spanish class. English is basically a repeat for me this entire year. Science just bores me and I seriously don't need to know half the stuff I learn in it ( trust me I don't, no lectures plzthx ). Math is all review. Health, eh, it's important but not as exciting. Learning a whole nother language rox.

English, Maths, Science (3) and French are my compulsory subjects...

Business Studies is probably my most-usefull subject I do. I know how to do most things in IT (Computer Class) and I'm only doing Geography for the GCSE.

If my Web Design teacher knew more than half the students about HTML, then that class would be useful.

Hm, besides the core four (whew rhyme), I would say Spanish. The increase in Hispanics moving to America has increased to almost 44.2 million, according to my Spanish teacher, as of 2005. Having a basic knowledge of this language would be important to many people's life skills.

For most people in the UK, History will not be a core subject.

My core are Maths, English (lit & lang) and Sceince (3). My most useful one outside them would probably be geography.

If I could choose from my core it would be Physics.

I'd have to go with math.
History: Yes, it is important to learn by what means your country was established and how it has progressed, and it is also important to learn from their mistakes. However, this knowledge applies to a limited number of jobs.

Science: This one is a close second. Science is very very important to our society, and if we want to make any advances in medicine and technology science is crucial. However, those same applications also require math.

English: If no one was taught proper grammar, then no one would think it was "unintelligen" because it was the common language. However, it is being taught and I find it important to carry on an intelligent conversation.

Math: required for every field/profession necessary.

Home Economics or any other substitute for it. You learn things you will more than likely need for everyday living such as cooking, doing laundry and many other things. Getting you prepared. ;)

I've never learned in school before. Therefore I have no important classes; any information I get will be lost in days.

Really, I don't participate in true learning in school. It's more of a friend gathering moderated by teachers for me.

I'll say business. Though currently we're learning about get this: Windows Movie Maker. I mean come on, that program came on my computer and I've used it a heck of a lot. Although once we start learning some new stuff, it will be most important to me. I hope to obtain a career having something to do with computers.
