Okay, i am guessing this is 'net slang and I was just wondering what it means when someone says (sp?) after saying something...

I gather it means they are not completely sure about what they said before it...But does anyone know for sure??

Stands for (spelling?) as in they don't know if they spelled the word correctly or not.

More specifically, it means they don't think enough of you or the conversation to do a quick Google search.

No :/

It means

"Well caracteristicarly (SP) speaking"... They are not sure whether they spelt the word right. Quite simply.

What Nicola said. I do it a fair bit because there are certain words that don't look right to me and going to dictionary.com every 5 minutes isn't my style :/

EDIT: Spelling >.>

Nah, it's not slang, it's mostly used in shorthand marking, like Ben said.
