Does Christmas offend you? I've heard of so many places in the UK and Ireland where Christmas plans where cancelled, lights not put up, offence to have something representing Christmas outside the house because it might offend non-celebrating Christmas Christians. My point: When in Rome, do as the Romans, ie In Britain do as the British. I mean if we went over to their country would they put up a Christmas tree in case it offended us that they didnt celebrate it... I dont think so. I just want some opinions on this. |

Not at all, though I do find it ridiculous that people who aren't of any christian faith celebrate christmas with a tree and what not. Might as well name it exchange gift day if you don't celebrate it for the way it was meant. |

Because the whole Idea behind Christmas - Christ being born and being the Saviour of the World does not appeal to non-Christians and therefore they take the celebration as an offence. |

If it doesn't appeal to them then why waste their time complaining about it? If you don't like blueberrys don't eat them. Simple as that |

Not Christian. Not Catholic. And I don't follow any religion strictly. But I don't see why people would be offended by it. It's probably one of the best times of the year to me. Sadly though, I think that the whole meaning of Christmas has slid away slightly from being about Christ and more about the gift-giving and the getting together. That's just me though. |

It doesn't offend me, but my family and I don't celebrate it because it has nothing at all to do with the birth of Christ and the real reason why he came to earth, which was to suffer and die for us. What people call Christmas is now associated with lights, trees, presents and cookies, not Christ. And the Bible says nothing about telling us to celebrate the coming of Christ in such a manner. So, it doesn't offend me but it's just not something that my family and I do. |

Yeah, I know. I just wanted to make more of an uplifting post. Anyway, no one's forcing them to celebrate it. I mean, if decorating your house for Christmas offends people, then why doesn't a cross on a church offend people? This is like the debate about take "under God" out of the Pledge. So what if they remove "under God" from the Pledge. The US currency still says "In God We Trust". There's that song "God Bless America". If you can't stand the lights, don't look at them. I don't see how putting up lights for Christmas is "forcing religion" on people. |

I love Christmas. Happy Holidays and Season's Greetings, when used to avoid 'offending' people (a tiny minority. I'd rather ignore the idiots it offends) is more likely to set me off than anything else. We're allowed to swear something nasty on television and the radio, but we can't say Christmas. Profanity, in my view, is a billion times more offensive. |

Of course it offends me. And so does the 4th of July. Lol, not really, but it's the same concept. |
