Just something I was trying for PD. The bar at the top would extend across the whole page at the top, while the rest would stay pretty much the same size. I think I've improved some, but still suck at graphics. :P

It's too simple, and in my opinion you didn't use the gradients correctly.

It would be really hard if a someone wanted to use this as a template, because they'd have to make a new image each time they made an update with a new date, because the text for it has a stroke on it.

I think the boxes for featured content, and the date need to have different gradients, more complex, and each box should have a different gradient to each other, to add more variation.

The pink box looks randomly placed, it would be better if it was aligned up to another box properly, maybe shift it to the right, and align it with the box with the question mark in it. The text also needs to be darker, it's a bit too hard to read it at the moment.

The navigation should always be near the top in my opinion, not at the bottom, the user wants to be able to navigate easily, and for anybody that visits their site to be able to navigate easily, people look at the top first, so that would seem the natural place to put it for easier navigation.

I don't like the font used for the URL, it's too big, and it would of looked better in bold, not italics in my opinion.

I do like the gradient in the background, it's sleek, and would be quite easier to implement if you was coding it. I like both of the Background images BTW.

It looks quite good overall though, but I've only really named the parts I don't like.

Yeah, I didn't really think about that much when I was making it. I'll probably remove it when I code it.. or if I do.

I agree.

I'll darken the text. I'll probably move it up to the top-right area a bit more, so it doesn't overlap the other text boxes.

Once again, I agree. I'll probably keep navigation on the bottom, but add links to the bar at the top, in addition to the logo at the top. The banner will be put somewhere, I don't know where yet.

I'll change it.

Once again, thank-you.

Responses in bold, thanks for the feedback. :)
