I smoke, chew and spit. And enjoy every minute of death it brings me. When I'm 60, and have lung cancer- in my old age, I'll have one more reason to be old and miserable.
I was a bit surprised, after joing the army, the number of people who smoke in such a physically demanding work environment. Why the hell is that? jesus fish.

Not sure, I haven't studied that aspect of it.

I'd find it hard to smoke, since I am mildly allergic to tobacco smoke. (Get a headache, allergy's get really bad, ect..)

That aside, no; I'd never pick up a smoke, let alone let it touch my lips.

Ive never found smoking entertaining or relaxing. If i wanted to kill myself, i would just shoot myself. I have smoked but i was drunk and i realised it was just pointless.

Smoking is for people with a lack of self respect or intelligence. I know thats pretty stereotypical, but it's the most common case.

Yeah, and kids that dress in all black clothing worship the devil. I know that's pretty stereotypical, but it's the most common case. >_>

Sadly, ideal is right. All forms of self harm (not forced of course) are the direct result of either a lack of self respect or a lack of intelligence. There are very few that can be contributed to other things, especially smoking. I mean yes, cutting can be linked to depression and alcoholism has been linked to genetics but smoking?

Go ask any smoker if they don't respect themselves. You would most likely get the same result from non-smokers, as well. And to say they are not intelligent in the area of smoking is just plain ignorant.

I personally don't know whether or not it relieves stress. The two times I've tried cigs I coughed a lot and smelled bad, and the cigar I tried was disgusting. A lot of the people I know who smoke claim it relieves stress, so I dunno

One of the largest urban myths ever. Probably so popular because people who smoke can use it as a self-reassurance tactic.

That it relieves stress? That is true. :c_huh:

erm

http://www.nosmokingday.org.uk/smokers/realtruth.htm

http://www.webmd.com/hw/health_guide_atoz/aa154115.asp

More importantly, "The stress relief you get from smoking comes from the act of taking time out to smoke a cigarette and from the chemical actions of nicotine in your brain." Which means that smoking does relieve stress, just not fully. Whenver my dad gets pissed off, a cig usually calms him down. So what relieved his stress? Smoing a cigarette.

There is no way in hell I will ever pick up a cig and smoke it. It's disgusting! It tastes bad and it smells even worste. I do on occation light up a stog though when hangin around the fire with friends. I know it's the same thing as smoking a cig but with one major difference, you don't inhale. Sure you still get some smoke from it just being in the air but you don't get nearly as much as you would with cigarrettes. Not only that but stogs taste and smell a lot better seeing that they come in all sorts if flavors like grape, peach, honey, strawberry, blueberry, etc etc.

I'm not into smoking of any kind. I've tried it, and it doesn't do anything for me, so I see no reason to keep doing it.

What I'm trying to say is, health class didn't teach us anything you didn't say. It just seems like you're trying to shove it down our throats and make yourself sound better because you don't smoke. I could be wrong, but you always speak like you are higher, and say who is right and who is wrong without stating that it's your opinion or anything.

Because I am right. Unless you want to deny all the scientific and sociological research that backs up my claims.

Scientific research eh? You are a Christian, so you don't believe the scientific research that goes into the Big Bang right?....I'm sure you see the point here, but I'm going to leave it alone unless someone makes a topic in brain juice, I'm sure I'm bound to be warned for disagreeing with staff. And BTW, you say you are right in Christian related topics too, when face it you're no T.D.Jakes and there are some things even he isn't sure about.

Oh, and I think it should be a good idea to make a topic in Brain juice about how reliable scientific research is against religion.

Don't change the subject, you're jumping all around and I kind of got lost in whatever point you were trying to make earlier. Calm down for a second and take a deep breath.

There was no point in Ross saying 'in my opinion' or anything of that sort in the first place because that's like saying, "A molecule is composed of several atoms....in my opinion" lol it isn't necessary cause that's the definition of a molecule right? Yes this topic is touchy because there are a lot of people that smoke and it seems like a big personal attack on everyone who smokes when he makes his claims but there is no long term benefits from smoking unless you want to lower your life expectancy. That's not my ideal way to live but sadly it is for some other people.

Read vulcan's post, the first part. He said it for me there, how Ross is drawing conclusions and saying he is right when he just isnt. The point i was trying to make was not that smoking isnt bad for you, it's about how Ross debates. I guess you can call it off topic, so that's why I decided to leave it alone.
