Assassins Creed had loads of hype, and failed to deliver.

assassin's creed was a good game fundamentally, but they made it too repetitive (the missions were exactly the same) and all they left you to do after completing the game was collect flags. a total waste of a good concept imo. ac2 should be better.

I got an Xbox yesterday with Tomb Raider Underworld, Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda because it was in a package. While I love Tomb Raider, I finished it on the PS3 not long ago so it's boring anddd I'm going shopping on Saturday. Any ideas for what games to get? I'm thinking about Gears Of War 2. I played the first with my boyfriend and loved it.

Hopefully I'll get Live soon too. My mum seems keen on letting me get it so my brother will want to be on it more since it's his early Christmas present.. and I kinda stole it. :hmm: :hehe:
I would buy Gears 1. I personally like it better, but that's just me.
Yeah I might. My boyfriend works at GAME and they play it in the staff room and he says the second is just shooting, moving, then shooting some more. The first one was like though though, but he says the second one is worse. :hehe:
Online multiplayer is that. Campaign was to good for words.
I got it yesterday and I'm LOVING the campaign mode. I'm doing co-op with my boyfriend because he wanted a go too and I'm liking it so far. The only thing that's bugging me is the lag when it checkpoints. x_x

Assassins Creed is rubbish. I have it on PS3 and I got bored after playing it for like 10 minutes. :hehe:

Gears 2 isn't bad imo. I liked the story and the gameplay as a whole. Definitely more fun to me than the first.

Assassin's Creed was amazing. Why? Not for story, though it was unique, but for gameplay and the fact that the world was so enormous and it was open to your choosing.

Gears 2 is such a disappointment in many ways. Story was flawed, ending was terrible, multiplayer needs millions of patches, lag is hurrendous, and new glitches are even more deadly than the first game's.

Prince of Persia, although a disappointment to me, was the only game that lived close to its small hype. Like Assassin's Creed, but even more gorgeous.
I'm tired of the hate on GOW2, you know as well as I know that when you first played GOW2, it was untouchable. Mulitplayer has some flaws I agree, and they need to patch it asap. But it's fun with friends.

Well if you think about it, almost every game is fun with friends, at least more fun than without them.

Untouchable? Don't make me laugh.

It's basically Gears 1, with a terrible story and mediocre SP. MP is terribly flawed too.

It's a decent game, but nowhere near the likes of Fallout 3.

New GOW2 maps. 800 points, for some gayer maps. I hope they do another remake pack. Fuel Depot, Rooftops, War Machine.

I want to know what makes the story so bad. It was really interesting imo.

As for the multiplayer, please show me these glitches and bugs, the only thing I've seen wrong in my 100+ MP matches was the random lag it took for my grenade to go off. Methinks some people need a better connection.

Agreed. But multiplayer there are enough bugs and glitches. The glitch where you can use a shield with any weapon. Bugs where smoke kill you or you get knocked off and never get up. When you chainsaw someone and someone kills you before you finish you still hear the chainsaw. Those sort of bugs. Also the major lag issue.

Flood

Flood is a very tight map that's made extra snug when Imulsion starts creeping up around the edges. As the playing field closes in, the firefight intensifies and combat is forced to the center of the map. Take cover, keep your eyes peeled, and remember to head for high ground.

Gold Rush

The Gold Rush facility processed and transferred millions of barrels of refined Imulsion before Emergence Day. Located in a desolate gorge, it now serves as a hotly contested battleground. Featuring two tiers, this map has a lot of crossfire and a level of verticality that is rare in Gears multiplayer.

Fuel Station

Fuel Station delivers a dangerous battle around an abandoned fossil-fuel facility. The team that secures and controls the station is likely to win the match. An especially strategic location on this map is the rooftop, as there are only two points of entry—the main elevator and a staircase on the back side of the building.
