Sadly I rarely remember my dreams, the ones that I do, their quite, er, weird.

That's what happens to me a lot, but I remember almost all my dreams.

Lately I've been having a lot of bad dreams.. Mostly about getting tortured, and things like that. It's a bit creepy. :ermm:

There's some odd dreams to, one time when I used to goto High School, just before I woke up from sleep in the morning I was dreaming of doing the dishes with the dish washer... When I woke up, guess what mom made me do... It was sort of creepy. I think it happened again but not near in time...

I rarely recall my dreams except, surprise surprise, when something is happening, or going to happen, that affects me in some manner. It's not uncommon as dreams tend to act as our subconscious' way of communicating with us. It's the one time we can, to an extent, interact with that which is hidden in darkness. I have the odd dream now and again that I can recall that bears no significance, though I'm fully inclined to believe all represent something. The ones I do recall that tend to be more important are often confusing and highly symbolic, and despite the time it can take to figure out what it's trying to tell me I generally get the message.

It's nothing special. I've always believed our conscience is capable of minimal understanding and contemplation whilst our subconscious brings forward a greater but untapped knowledge thus these dreams act as a nexus to portend or inform us of something we're overlooking, usually something that is disturbing our emotional balance. It happened when my mum got cancer, happened a fair few times prior to and after several major events in my life as well. It also occurs when smaller things upset me and I don't realise it. The minor dreams I occasionally remember seem to be an outlet for daily thoughts, a subconscious replica or perhaps even personification of emotions, feelings, events and interactions played out in the most unusual of ways, although sometimes it's deceptively realistic and doesn't stray afar from the path of reality. Of course dreams don't mean one specific thing, even the major ones I've recalled have had elements I still can't explain, perhaps knowledge, or an inclination, of past or future events neatly woven into the fabrics of the mind, there for us to see but never truly revealing themselves. I've found several connections between some of my dreams so perhaps it's a subconscious network that we can only see with hindsight as we do with so many things in life.

Whatever purpose dreaming holds, if it has one, it's certainly an intriguing area.

All I know is that I had a wicked awesome dream a few nights ago where a War of the Worlds type machine was slaughtering everything. Me and my Dad were running away from it. I love dreams that scare the heck out of me.

I personally think that dreams are something that you commonly think of. They just symbolize things that you also want. They take every-day situations and they transfer your wants into those situations. Something that's realistic and something that makes you think you can reach those wants.

When you learn to control your dreams, that's when the fun starts.

I only remember my dreams when I don't wake up to an alarm. Pretty much every dream I can remember has to do with absoultely nothing, but I can usually control what happens as soon as I realize that I'm dreaming.

Yeah I've tried to lucid dream (realize I'm dreaming and control it) but it never seems to work.

Dreams.

*sighs*

Was that melodramatic enough for you? XD

No, really. My opinion is that dreams are an output for your day's emotions, including joy, frustration, anger, happiness, and the ocational touch of fright. I've noticed my dreams often include phrases/thoughts and etc. from things I have experienced, whether they are in my immediate or distant past. A dream may also entail people who have effected my life in negative or positive ways, and either reversing their roles or keeping it is one of the wierd things my dream does. I don't believe the people who say they can connect to the dead and tell the past and future in dreams. For god's sake--those people hardly remember what they dreamt of in the morning, so it is very hard to believe. Dreams are also sometimes complex illusions that the mind creates to fill a loss in memory or life in general--e.g. you'll have a dream of a relative you recently lost, or your dream will explain something wierd that happened to you in life.

Sometimes, my dreams take on random aspects, that when analyzed, relate to things that may have happened to me years and years ago, yet forgotten until that moment. These aforementioned events should have taken an impact on my memory, yet they've past by, just disappearing under the surface of my subconcious thoughts, effecting my decisions without me ever noticing. I find that quite cool when I've discovered them.

Another interesting demeanor of dreams is their multifaceted attributes of layered meanings speckled with nuances, with each of the aforementioned layers having different connotations, and whether they be negative or positive, these layers have sub levels and those sub levels have their own sub levels creating a complex arborial-like system which closely resembles my life itself. An example of this happening would be different events and the subconcious knowledge of what caused them. This knowledge will never arise to the surface, and remains subjective to the dream itself, ownly showing if the dream pertains to that condition of lifestyle, such as a specific event. Dreams are very conditional.

Those are my thoughts on dreams. ^_^

QFT.

i love dreams. if I could I would constantly dream. In your dreams you can do anything. They set you free. They can mean things, they can be completely selfish. People ever since the beginning of time have been fascinated with dreams. Dreams inspired more less everything you see around you. I.E. the Cellular Phone was inspired by Star Trek, Star Trek was inspired by a dream.

NO.

The cellular phone was not inspired by StarTrek. Motorola's StarTack was inspired by the communicators used in StarTrek. That's about the only connection. ^_^

In my opinion, dreams are only representations of what you have experienced made by your mind while you sleep. I do not think they are related to something emotional, divine or somethings about future/facts as some people things. They are only things the mind mixed, taken from your memories and experience, and showed to you while you sleep, like a movie =) For example, las night I dreamed about a beautiful orange and yellow clothe called "Gothic Style". And you know what? Some minutes before going to sleep I was looking at a purple and yellow skin here at the IFSZ where .Gothika posted. There was also an ad about InDrop STYLES. Do you see what I mean? =P
