I don't have a dog anymore since Christmas Day. :( She died as well.

But, that's a pretty sad story. :/

I'd probably jump in after my dog, my dog means everything to me because my dog helped me get through my parents divorce so I just couldn't think about living without her. :/

Sad to hear that those parents died doing that though. Feel bad for those kids. :(

I know for a fact that I would have done the same thing, because one thats my dog and I love my dog he is apart of my family and I would do anything to keep him safe and make sure he was ok and if that meant putting my life on the line, then so it may be.

They said the dog was barking at some animal and they were at the very edge.

What? The mother went in first? That's not right, isn't the man supposed to be the first one in?

I would have gone in, if it wasnt a dam. But they should have had a leash.

Thats what you have a flexy leash for.
When my dog almost fell off a hill, we pulled it up by its neck using the flexy.
I know it hurt to be pulled up, but it would have hurt it even more to hit the ground.

That's really sad. If my dog did that I would try to save him, but I wouldn't go to the lengths of putting my own life in danger for an animal.

I love my dogs, but if it meant that one of my dogs, me or both of us could die, I wouldn't sacrifice my life for her. I love her, but if there was a large chance that I wouldn't survive, I wouldn't do anything. She'd probably have a better chance of surviving than me as she can swim better, so it'd be foolish to try to help her.

No one here actually knows what you would have done in the situation.

Also, just to note this was out in an area where you would typically bring your dog out without a leash. It was a secluded area and the waters didnt look that bad.

That sucks, however, I'm a kitten lover, and my kitten is to lazy to stop sleeping let alone leave the house...

I probably would simply because these words "If you don't do something you could regret it for the rest of your life" will haunt me.

Alright they were walking along the dam. Then the dog slipped in. They were like: :o

Sorry, but -- XD

That is very sad, but like AA said, people don't tend to think clearly in sudden crises like that.

Considering I grew up with my dog I would probably dive in after him in that situation. I would risk my life to save his.

Very sad story indeed. Though the lengths taken to save their dog was a bit..."Ehh."

But who am i to judge their course of action. From the looks of it, the mother (Mostly) and the father really loved that dog. And without delay they tried to save him/her. That alone, besides their horrible death, is true love for that dog. I do not find it pathetic, i find it heart-filling that not only your love ones, but animals have someone, somwhere who are willing to give their life to give that or any other animal a chance to live.

R.I.P
