Much to my dismay, Barry Zito has agreed to sign a 7 year, $126 million contract with the San Francisco Giants.

Does signing Zito give San Fran the upper edge in the mediocre NL West? Hard to say, because both the Dodgers and Padres made moves to get better. If I were to say right now, I think the Dodgers are the favorites to take the division, although I think the Giants will be in 2nd. I'm just not buying into the Padres much.

YES.

At least he's not a Met. Or Yankee or Red Sock.

The A's should have brought him back.... stupid choice. They will be bad next year. But good luck to the Giants.

Yay! Even though I hate the Giants, I hate the Mets more. I think he's definitely going to help the Giants, but I don't think they can go far if they keep Bonds.

What's wrong with the Mets? I know they've never done anything to your Orioles, Curare...except beat them in the World Series in 1969, but I figured you'd be over that by now.

Ah, I think he's wayy overpaid. No way does anyone in professional sports need that much money. It's getting ridiculous.

For Zito to get the richest contract for a pitcher in baseball history doesn't make a whole lot of sense. His numbers have been on the decline lately.
