Well guess what, I didn't even get to enjoy yesterday's 69 degrees because I was sick. :( And plus, I'm still sick with strep throat. :/

This an El Nino winter. Not global warming. Global warming doesn't happen in one year. It might take over 100 years for it to actually get people to notice.

El Nino is the warming of oceans surface temps in the Gulf coast, and the Pacific ocean is ALSO VERY warm. Theres a low pressure over the Gulf waters and a High pressure over the Pacific. Thats the case so far this winter. The high and low pressure causes the Jet Stream to split, causing the warmer Gulf waters over MOST of the US. The other part of the Jet Stream is too weak to hold ANY significant amount of cold air.

There is also a "vortex" of cold air over Canada thats spiraling in the same spot. But for the past week or two, its starting to move, cause cold air to start spilling into the Lower 48. Gradually everyone in the USA will see a 10-20 degree drop in temperatures. That will take maybe another 2-3 weeks to really get the cold air in.

Alot of forecasters are calling for a MAJOR pattern change in Late January to February. I'm just 16, but I have read ALOT of info about this weather stuff, and I am really interested. I might be wrong on a few things, but its the general jist of it.

But snow lovers, forecasters are calling for a pattern change. I am also thinking it will because of the GFS models (Long-range weather forecast models). The GFS computers/models are calling for cold air coming in from Canada around the 15-18th. That will be the start of a pattern change.

Why are you all complaining? I hate it when its cold, let alone cold enough to snow, which has never ever been the case.

We've only gotten 1.4" of snow this year, and it looks like we are going to have to wait untill Febuary to get some.

Most of the snow comes in February or the late January. Don't worry about it, it was really cold last year. ;)

I don't get what y'all mean with 'heat wave'. It's colder here then it usually is, we've had tons of snow, more projected in the next week or so, massive flooding, rains, storms, etc - we never get snow till about March. Crazy stuff.
