Oh, it's easilly LT. No question. No contest. He's the reason sacks started to be listed. Anyone who creates rules for the sport is amazing, especially if they can tell the O lineman which hole he's going through and still beat the lineman off the ball and to the spot. No one was or will be better.
When I read your first sentece, I thought you were talking about LaDainian Tomlinson...I was about to say...how in the hell can you say he is already the best player in NFL history...he may be when its all said and done... But yeah, the real LT is a good choice too...but I still have to say Marino.
Marino didn't physically change the game.

I agree. He invented the ball swipe during the sack. No one else ever hammered at the ball before him.

Spam is fun, too bad I have another point to make.
Yes, he invented the move, and he also started the sack statistic. They didn't count sacks until his second year, or right after it. And he, if I'm not mistaken, is the record holder, and that's with possibly 2 seasons being uncoutned for.

LT? If Derrick Thomas [Kansas City Chiefs] didn't die he would of shattered him. Look at that man's stats i mean he was amazing while he existed. He was a linebacker btw and he was CRAZY =D
On Offense of course Barry Sanders, He had like 4 - 6 years left in him when he retired, so he could of also easily broke Emmit's record.

Yes, record holder. Well, tied now. Strahan (Ironically another giant), is tied with the sack record.

No, that was Deacon Jones that made a sack a statistic and a term, but the recording didn't come until around LT.

Blah, still changed the game. If it wasn't for him, we couldn't care less about sacks.

There is only 1 season not accounted for in his stats--they started it his 2nd year.
