I hate people who get so obsessed over damn games.

???

It was a mother trying to get a Wii for her kids. And just because they wanted a Wii, doesn't mean they're obsessed.

Oh no, not obsessed, she only died for it. *-)

If she had waited to get it, she wouldn't be dead.

That's called being a doting mother, actually. Nothing about this story involves obsessiveness.

The Radio station wouldn’t know if she had a piss or not. Would they?

Either way it was a stupid thing to do. Her kids don't get a Wii or a Mom now.

I seriously doubt anyone would have though someone would've died holding their bladder. It obviously wasn't a choice of a Wii or death because I'm more than sure the mother would've pulled out of the contest.

It was a mother who wanted to get her kids a gift and in turn was poisoned. It's not like they were drinking something that usually harms you, anyway. I mean please, they're holding their bladder not climbing a mountain.

I feel bad for the family. She wanted to win it for her kids, and apparently she'd do anything for them in order to earn it. I never would've known water would kill you from consuming so much water.

If you saw a radio contest to drink water to get a Wii, I'm sure many people would be doing it. The other contestant said it didn't look too hard. Apparently she'd do whatever she could to get it, but it turned out the wrong way.

I guess you think most people don't have common sense? Your stomach growling is usually a sign of hunger. Fatigue and trouble keeping your eyes open is your body telling you to go to sleep. I don't see why it'd be different for pushing your bladder to the edge of explosion.

You all can sit here and call her stupid, but how many of you seriously knew what water intoxication was? It's something that isn't well known, and the radio station certainly didn't look into it enough if they held a competition like this. The creators of this contest thought of a stupid idea, and did little to ensure that proper safety precautions were taken. Saying, "drink water at your own risk" just doesn't cut it. I guarantee all of you that are calling her stupid right now would have rushed to that radio station to get into that contest.

I don't play video games, so I wouldn't take part in a stupid contest. I also knew that drinking too much water could kill you. I can call her stupid all I want but I'd rather describe her with this:
"A loving mother who went out of her way to try and make her kids happy, dies tragically because she, like many other people, was unaware of the dangers of drinking gallons of water in a short period of time."

I'd blame the radio station. How the hell can you hold a contest like this and not know about the dangers?

If you're aware, then that's a good thing. Like you said, the radio station needs to take some blame for this. If you're going to hold a contest like this, you really need to know the risks and make sure that the contestants really know what they're getting into.
