How the hell can you feel sorry for some idiot who's too dumb to go for a piss when they need to?

How can you not feel sorry for a mother who was simply trying to make her children happy?

Yeah, because killing yourself by taking part in a dangerous competition will make your kids super happy *-)

uh, not everyone knows water can poison you.

She should have just gone to the toilet, she should have known something was wrong when she started to feel bad.

True, but she might not have thought the water was causing it. Most of our body is made up of water so you can't blame her for not knowing.

Maybe the throbbing bladder would have been a bit of an insight..

Ok buddy, I think you can really STFU now.

Obviously she knew that her gentiles were hurting because she had to take a piss. She thought it was nothing, comparing to making her kids happy. It's the radio station who should be sued for not knowing the health hazards, and warning the participants.

You guys (especially Rezurreckted or however you spell it) are being far too mean about this. Yes, she died for a video game system, but she died for her children. Parents die for their children almost every day, just to see them happy. Sure, this death wasn't "traditional" but does that give you the right to act like people have never died doing dumber things? Didn't think so. The woman is dead, her three children (who must be fairly young- less than 17 would be my guess) have to continue their lives with the loss of a parent, and who knows where the father is. Even if you disagree with her death, she died for her kids. Surely you can sympathize with that.

Usually I would rip on this ***** until someone banned me but not this time. She died with good intentions at heart. I feel so bad, and can you imagine how her children feel about this. I think i'd be the one to blame, if my mom died in a contest to get me something I wanted. God I don't know why, but this just kinda ruins my night. In fact, I'm going to sleep because of it.

Yeah, while I don't take pleasure in a person's death, I'd feel less inclined to snigger at the irony (bearing in mind black humour is my thing) if she had died for an actual worthy cause. Parents die for their children everyday in Africa just to try and save them from what is all too often an inevitable fate. This woman died trying to get a computer console for her children. Nice sentiments but utterly ridiculous and just another reason why this world's obsession with material goods and willingness to place happiness on such mundane items is proof of humanity's idiocy.

Really, you can't compare a mother dying for her children over a Wii to those parents who give their own life for that of their children in war or starve themselves in the hopes their child will make it or even those who do dangerous jobs with horrendously low income just to put a scrap of food on the table. I can't be the only one to find it utterly cretinous that a man or a woman would risk their health over a console. Really, even if you don't know about water intoxication (and most don't seemingly) it's not exactly news that over-consuming anything, especially in a rushed effort at one time, is bound to cause health problems.

Don't get me wrong, death is death and I do feel for her children, I know myself what it's like to lose your mum, but I think to sit here and pay tribute as if she did something grand would be misleadingly erroneous at best, a downright lie at worst. All too often our judgement is clouded and we mistake foolish gestures for something they're not; this was one such instance and sadly she did not manage to escape the consequences. I won't pretend she's not a fool just because she's dead. :/ "Not disrespecting the dead" should not circumvent reality and distort our perceptions. If she'd lived and become severely ill, most of you would be pointing out her idiocy. Such is the hypocrisy of our society *-)

So true, they shouldn't have mad that contest in the first place. :/

I don't think the women would have died for her children for a video game system if she knew what would happen.

I saw this on Fox News last night; and it's not official, but the law experts both there agreed completely that the station is going to get sued . I couldn’t be more happy than that either because it really is their fault no matter how you look at it. Sure, the woman agreed to do it, but try telling someone you’ll give them a prize for doing something equally as dangerous; I bet you’ll find someone. Also, wouldn’t you think that something would be safe if it was on a TV program or radio station? Either way, none of you knew the woman, so saying “she deserved to die” is ignorant. :/
