Well one of my friends who is 15, had sex with my friends brother who is 17. She is worried that she is pregnant since she hasn't had her period for over two months since they had sex...So she doesn't know what to do. Since she told me not to tell anyone, i'm just looking for some advice on here. So, she can't bring up pregnancy to her parents because first of all they would sue the guy, and second she cannot have an abortion since she's a Christian Conservative. The problems: -The boy might get sued because it was underaged since he was 17, she was 15 -She cannot bring up the issue to her parents (I mean who could if your 15?) -She cannot have an abortion if she is pregnant. -She doesn't know how to confront the boy because it was just a few one night stands, they don't really speak. And of course the majority of the board will say, well they shouldn't have had sex, they should have been protected (which for a fact they were unless she's lying). 1.) So is it illegal if the boy is 17 and the girl is 15? 2.) Can the boy get sued? 3.) How would she confront her parents/the boy? 4.) What should she do in this case if she were to have the baby? Thoughts? |

Yes to both I’m afraid. I don’t know what I would do in a situation like this, I know she wont like the idea but the best thing to do is to probably sit down and discuss the matter with the parents. It’s better they find out now then later on when the signs become more obvious.

Well in a situation like this she is essentially screwed as well as her boyfriend or whatever he is. The fact of the matter is, her parents will have to find out eventually and yes, he can get sued and it was illegal. The biggest problem though is she will be having a kid soon which is never a good thing as I doubt she could even support herself financially. So I have no suggestions other than to let things play out and accept whatever consequences she receives from her actions. There is no easy way out of some things in life. |

1.) So is it illegal if the boy is 17 and the girl is 15? No. 2.) Can the boy get sued? They could take him to court I guess, but I doubt they'd win. 3.) How would she confront her parents/the boy? First of all - tell her parents. Don't bring it to the boy because he might go around saying "I got so and so pregnant" - It's happened. 4.) What should she do in this case if she were to have the baby? It's her choice, but I'd put it up for adoption. My friend ran into this same situation and that's what she did. Being a mother at 15 is too hard, you have school and your future to think about. Again, that's her decision. Tell her that her parents need to know, because if they don't, and she comes home with a baby, she's got loads of explaining to do. It's better to tell them now than to wait. They can also help with the pregnancy if she is pregnant. This same thing happened to my 16 year old friend. It's not fun, but you has to tell her parents. |

I know for a fact that if she had the baby the parents would support them because her parents are very VERY wealthy, so financially speaking her parents would support here so thats the issue. |

It's not rape...She wasn't forced against her will, and if that were the factor she would plead his case. |

While some teenage girls don't 'show' when they're pregnant, it's likely she will, and her parents would appreciate her fessing up and asking for help rather than finding out the conventional way. She *might* be pregnant? She needs to take a test. A reliable test, and then perhaps talk to her doctor or a family planning counsillor if she is still too scared to talk to her parents. Of course, she might not be. Periods can be so precise and on time (i.e you know what day it is every time), but then it can also be completely out of whack because of hormones. People can go for months without a period. I know I have, and I've never had sex so I knew I wasn't pregnant. Stress can both bring periods on early and delay them, depending on the person. Therefore "omg I'm late" isn't as accurate as "It's blue/pink :|" on a reliable pregnancy test. So... first she needs to find out whether she is or not, then she either needs to learn from this experience and do the mature thing and use protection, or she has a baby to start thinking about, and parents that need talking to. |
