Vista doesn't supprot anything yet, there won't be any drivers supported for it, or for graphic card's under 9200 for ATI. I will wait a while before I get it, that way, I can actually get the best from it.
I don't know about you guys but i don't like it when people jump into a thread and say something that we know they don't know what they are talking about. Afterall if there are no drivers for Vista then why did most of the hardware (had a small problem with the wireless card) accept vista?
Your saying I do not know what I talking about? I installed Vista on my PC on sunday, went to download the drivers, could I find any Vista Supported drivers for ATI Radeon 9200 Graphic Card? No, I couldn't, I couldn't even install any updates for AVG because it wasn't supported, the audio didn't work at all, as there was no driver's for it. So please don't say I don't know what I am talking about, afterall I am an employee for a company that is a Premier Provider for Intel, which has been for the last 4-5 years. *-)
But your agruement saying there is no drivers for Vista is invalid. One of my friends installed Vista today and all the drivers for everything was downloaded.
On an offtopic note: You need to cut the "Your arguement is invalid" BS. It doesn't make you look any smarter. It just makes you come off like an asshole. ----- His argument IS valid. He stated that there are no drivers for ATI cards under the 9200 series, which is a huge chunk of video cards that are left essentially unsupported. There are also problems with drivers for a few wireless cards, as you stated. They go into infinite connect/disconnect loops. Therefore, a majority of required hardware is being left unsupported up to this point. So please stop acting like a fanboy and directing people to complete a currently un-wise upgrade. Vista isn't as stable as XP right now and won't be for several months. Its a rushed, glorified BETA with many bugs still remaining. Let microsoft do what they always do and release a service pack fixing the release bugs before you go upgrading.
I would've taken your post seriously if it wasn't for this. |-) Oh, and don't tell me what to say/do/whatever.
Do you see me running around saying "OMG use linux!!1!!! in this topic?" See me going "OSX is teh r0x0rz"? No. I use XP Pro. I use Linux for my server applications. Sorry, you're thinking about webby again.
LOL :haha: I never once said that you were a fanboy, I was merely pointing out that you were saying that I was acting like one, when I was just saying how my own friend's installation of Vista included all the drivers? If anything, I'd choose OS X over Vista. Though, wouldn't you agree that for being an initial OS launch, Vista is pretty stable?
I wouldn't. It reminds me alot of Windows ME.

Oh come on, don't exaggerate. I used ME for about 3 years. Even Vista Beta 2 was miles ahead of it in terms of stability. ME destroyed itself from the inside. Vista doesn't do that.

You do not want Basic; if you like to look at movies, pictures, etc on your computer. Premium is your best choice.

ME makes ME look like Windows 95. It doesn't need Vista's help.
I think most of you know I'm a diehard Apple fanboy. So I won't say much. But I will say what's true, and all the critics agree with me: Windows Vista is better then XP and is indeed more stable. HOWEVER, now is not the time to upgrade. Everyone agrees with that. Even PC Magazine. Not Linux Magazine, not Mac Addict, PC Magazine. They just had a special article called "10 Reasons NOT To Buy Vista Just Yet".
Also, and this is my shameless Apple plug, if you're planning on buying a new computer to run Vista, consider this: For around the same price (If not cheaper) you could buy a great Mac and run Vista on that along with Mac OS X. (Yes, Vista runs on Macs. I've done it, I know.)
That being said, Vista is a decent upgrade from XP, and is definitely a step in the right direction for Microsoft.
(Look at me! I, a Mac fan, just made an entire Vista post without mentioning that the entire system has loads of features ripped off from Mac OS X!... oh... ****... never mind.)

I got my computer in October so it's relatively new, yet when checking if it is Vista compatible I realized I have about 12 or 13 drivers to upgrade, get more RAM and free 15 GB off my hard disk. Not to mention a new graphics card. Why the hell does my computer say Vista Compatible then? No thank you, I'm quite happy with my Ubuntu that demands virtually nothing from my machine

Saying Vista ripped off of OS X is like saying Japanese cars ripped off of American cars because they contain an engine, they run on gasoline, and have windows.
Also, find me a cheap Mac for $400. There is a Vista computer at my store that is under $400.

And by the way, is the one you're selling Aero-compatible? Like all the effects without any lag? Fancy transitions, clear borders, the whole deal?

Technically it can run Vista, but not Aero-compatible and it would be very slow (512 RAM).
