Well, my pc was completly "messed" so i did a pc restore back to the beginning, i need your help with some advice on what i should download. I need: Free anti virus Firewall ( I was thinking zone alarm, i hate norton which is on here at the moment ) Something that can get rid of spyware, adware. Also anything else you can think of. Thanks. |

Don't use Norton. It slows Windows down. Use AVG and Tune up Utilities. |

Spyware Doctor comes up with plenty of false positives so be careful not to get sucked into any offers they send you after it 'detects' spyware on your computer. The best form of defence is to get a router with an inbuilt firewall, keep Windows up to date and use Firefox with NoScript for web browsing (so no malicious scripts can ship viruses to your hard drive). I do that and the only time I need to use an AV is when I download something which might come prepacked with crap. |
