To be honest, I'm crying while writing this. --- Somewhere around an hour ago I got a call from my cell phone, and it was a private call. I never pickup private calls because it's usually a friend of mine playing a prank using *67; however something made me pick it up. The voice on the other end of the line was unfamiliar to me. It spoke quickly and bravely. I heard a lot of noise in the background as I kept asking who this was. In response, I kept getting the man saying to me to come down the hospital. My mom and I went down to see what was going on. --- I walked in and the same man from the phone greeted us and pulled us into the back end of the emergency room. (Note that I saw the combination to the door was 12345 >_>) He lead us into another room, a patient room, and there, unconscious in the bed was my dad. --- It turns out he was in a car accident going home from work. He was rear-ended by some teenagers who are going to be put to trial as they had a small percentage of alcohol in them. My dad had an oxygen mask on, and an IVY already attached to him. That moment is when I realized how much of a douche bag I truly felt like. --- Something had happened at my Hebrew School a week earlier. I'm not going into details, but the teachers expected us to come one more day AFTER graduation. None of us wanted to. I was arguing with my parents about it, and for the first time in my life, I yelled at them. The last words I set to my dad were, "I hate you so much. Never forget that!" He didn't cry, but I did. And that was yesterday. I hadn't talked to him today as works long hours (4:00 AM - 9:00 PM) as a lawyer, and I barely see him except on weekends. --- He has about a few hours left to live, and he's in a coma as it is so he is legally dead. The chances of him surviving this are 1/5000 so please pray for me. With just 2-3 hours, please pray for my father Lee Smolen. He doesn't deserve this at all, and my family might breakdown if he dies. We already suffered a huge loss from cancer, and my sister and I are at risk for Melanoma, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer as there is a history of it. Please pray for him, he didn't deserve this, but as it stands right now; LEE SMOLEN, REST IN PEACE |

that's rough; just try to know that even though you said that to your dad last, that he would know that you really didn't mean it. And don't give up hope, miricals happen. I give my best of wishes to your dad; and your, aswell as the remainder of your family. if it comes to it, may your father R.I.P |

My sympathies are with you and your family. Know that your father wouldn't want you to remember that last conversation. Think of the good times, and know that he loved you even though you said what you did. Parents understand that teenagers are going to say things, and they know that though the words may not reflect it, you still love him. |

That's damn tough man, I can understand where you're coming from. My grandpa died recently and I have great memories of him. All you can really do is hope for the best turn out, and know that he'll love you no matter what. That's his first job, loving his children. Good luck to you and your family. Think of all the great times you had with him, not the bad times. |

Audux, your father loved you unconditionally, even after your last conversation. Although it may be something that you will never forgive yourself for, have comfort in the fact that he would have forgiven you for it. ![]() Sorry to hear about this, and I truly hope your father does beat the odds and pulls through.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My best wishes to you and your family. *hugs*My dad was in a crash last week, artic lorrys back doors smashed into the side of his van, drivers side, if he hadn't of moved, I'd have lost my dad too. He was very lucky to survive. But yet hes fine without a scratch on him. I'm so sorry that yours couldn't have been that lucky. Take care of yourself x |
