Intro The end, for some of us, seems far away in the future, and others stick to the idea of 2012. But the reason I made this topic is pretty simple. How. How will the world end? And how will the world cope? A handful of disasters are: World War 3, Biblical Armageddon A Freak of nature Another thing, if not a biblical Armageddon or a freak of nature, and a human outbreak instead, how will the world cope? Some countries may take it seriously. And some may not. Keep in mind that Georgia and Romania equal very patriotic countries. How would they cope? *-) Counties Collide Some people think that humanity will destroy itself. And some disagree. But, if Humanity did, how would it the world cope? As I said above
And also, how would governments and countries cope? State how. Biblical and freak disasters. As stated in the Christian bible, chariots will come from the sky and the ground will open and Jesus Christ will come from the sky and take Christians to heaven. Also there is supposed to be a 'biblical Armageddon'. Also DOOMSDAY. Other things are that a freak of nature will wipe us out. How and what will? Discuss. You. In these situations, how would you cope? Will you await death? Sit quietly in your house and wait? Or will you go and get drunk? What ever you'll do - state. In a situation of a 'Humanity Vs Humanity' scene, would you fight for your country? What would your views be? The Debate The discussion is simple. By reading above what do you think? If you can - discuss most of the stuff. Also - some of it is fictional, so you'll have to pace yourself in that time. All in all; What do you think about the End of the World? Discuss. And keep it serious. ![]() ~ .Geeko. |

I believe that it will possibly end during WW3. We have so much nuclear warfare nowadays, who's to say that just a few guided missiles could wipe out our entire human civilization? As for the world ending in 2012, I doubt it will. Even if it does, it could at least be after the Olympics surely ![]() Joking aside, I truly think the world will come to an end either WW3 or Global Warming, if we don't sort our environment out, then Global Warming will eventually wipe our planet out. |

People who use really big text will make the world blow up ![]() I think it won't end until our sun dies and creates a supernova that devoures our planet. The human race will be long gone by that time though. Earth's climate just shifts far too much over extremely long periods of tme for our race to survive until then. We are just another one of Earth's many phases. We are here, and then we're gone. |

Honestly, I think all that Armageddon's stuff is silly, for the one fact that why would some divine ruler destroy everything he created like that? But whatever. The planet wont be destroyed for millions of years, but as Bry said, humans are another story. I expect we'll destroy eachother. |

To be honest, I believe the end of the world will come by the sun becoming a red giant. We are a far advanced civilization who realizes the terror that nuclear war can bring. Perhaps, in a very slim chance, may we kill our own race, but I don't believe so. Quick grammar reminder here. Phrases such as 'global warming' and others do not require capitilization, as they are not titles. |

Depends if you define "end of the world" as the "end of the human race" or the "destruction of earth" or the "end of all existance". The human race will eventually die out but the world will be in tact for billions more years. I get really sick of the argument. How self-centered to think that when the human race falls, that's the end of the world. I don't know. I tend to diss any armageddon argument. I mean we need to do everything possible to stop global warming because that's something we actually have control over. All the other stuff is pretty much either up to nature or up to the deity. |

I dunno about the end of the world, I guess there'll be no humans around to witness it. Humans will die out, and they'll bring it upon themselves. |

You give humans too little credit for their capacity to survive and adapt. Even in a nuclear holocaust, we will make it as a whole. The apocalypse is nowhere near unless the planet explodes. |

It will come when it comes and nobody knows when. Yes, people can expect things to come but how do they really know? They just don't. Though, I hope it's not very soon. I guess the world's coming to its end when I already did so

You *are* god. At least, you just as in charge of things as any other entity in existence, in the past, present, and future... the South American 2012 prophecy really doesn't imply the end of the world, but the merging of the great forces of humanity, a vast spiritual awakening, a paradigm shift - not in the individual, but in all people and things. There is nothing apocalyptic about it. It marks the end of the world mindset as we know it. I'm so eager for 2012 to roll around that I can barely stay in this same temporal location >_< The end of the human race, well, who knows a date for that? I think it's best not to speculate, but a hint might help unify our consciousness, or, it might devolve us into a however-many-billion-membered mob. |

You believe the prophecy? ![]() The world should have ended long ago, many times over, according to prophecies. This one will be no different. |

I don't believe it, but I think it is an excellent goal, and it would be very cool if science and god were merged completely by 2012. The Mayans were very smart - they had visions, and who knows if they were correct? For me, the profane and sacred are one in the same, so, for me, the Mayan prophecy has already come true. Perhaps the mindset I have adopted will spread throughout by 2012... It's more of a fun idea to entertain than anything else. Also,
The 2012 thing doesn't have anything to do with the world/life/humanity/the universe ENDING. It has to do with a new global mindset among humanity. |
