I left you a comment on deviantART, but just in case it doesn't show up- Positive Points: - You pulled off the minimal look very well here. - Design suits the purpose. - Blue is not badly contrasted with the greys and silvers. - Logo text suits well. Negative Points: - Navigation box's grey shade is too dark compared to the background. - Text used in navigation and copyright doesn't look 'right'. - Effect on jigsaw piece looks too chunky (in my opinion) Overall, I like it, good job ![]() Bearing in mind, this is just my opinion. |

Eh, I take nothing from this. What I mean is that you want a template to be something that someone sees, and then remembers it for awhile. You want people to see something and think, "Wow.", and this doesn't do it for me. Making it a little more eye catching and adding a little more design would improve it hugely. |

You seem to be missing the point. I want something that is easily readable and a style that fits the theme of the site. From my perspective, uncut templates aren't made to impress the reader with flashy designs that not everyone appreciates. Instead, I want to practice my simple design skills so that when or if I fully code a site, it's done well. |

The theme of the site is a retail company specializing in board-like games, correct? Any retail site should show professionalism and atmosphere. This is simple a few graphics, put together. They don't compliment each other, nor do they blend. The logo is merely coloured text. =/ I never said make something flashy, I said make it eye catching. It's just like a real store. If you don't like the way it looks, if it is outdated or unprofessional, you don't go back to that store. You can't pass off boring as 'simple' or 'professional'. They're not the same. It's just text with an advertising banner and a navigation. Gray and blue. I've seen professional and simple retail sites that look amazing. This just doesn't make it. =/ You can practice coding on a nice looking template as well. Style doesn't mean harder, just better. |

I see where you're coming from. However, I think you've just shifted your view point. In your first post, you said a template should make the view say to themselves "wow", which would suggest flashy design. But now you denounce that. Which is it? I don't go to a website because it looks great, I go to it for good content. My objective was to make a website that presents the content so it is effective. Although, now that I look back on it I know I didn't do my best, because I didn't spend enough time on the site. |

Although content is important, if a website has a bad layout, and decent content, i leave, and never come back. However if content is something to stay for, I will stay despite the lack of good designing. A good template is definetly important. Yours is decent, simple. I like. |
