I'm actually quite surprised that no one has brought this up yet. However, on this date in 1944 the war against Germany finally took a turn for the better after nearly three years of war before this.

Who here has a relative that was involved in D-Day, or just has something to say about D-Day? ^_^

A salute to all those who died, were injured, or served in D-Day.

My grandfather was a sergeant in a tank division. As far as I know, he was in D-Day, and The Battle of the Bulge. I'm assuming there were others, I just don't remember. He always has a lot to say around those important dates in his life, upon which he regails us with cool tank stories, which are a little frightning. He says "We owned those Nazis good". Well....sort of....I had to censor it for the SZ :P.

His Generation > Parents/our generations by a longshot.

Also, he thinks that Patton is a "crazy son of a ____" but still loves him.

:haha:

My other grandfather saw some action in there as well, although he was part of the infantry. He usually goes to Arlington around now-ish I think.
