How is that bad news?
Rowling could've been crying because the series she's worked on for years is finally finished. It doesn't necessarily mean something bad is going to happen to him.

Willing to bet on it? :hmm:

No.
I, too, believe Harry will die.. just to kill off the series. However, I don't exactly see how that can prove the theory.
Anyways, you guys checked out Emma Watson's new official 'site?

For 1, Not necessarily something bad happened to Harry. Neville could have done something heroic and died saving Harry etc.

2nd, It is very unlikely Harry will die(in my opinion). It would be bad for business to open a theam park based on a dead person, and the movies, If you learned he was going to die in the end, a lot of people wouldn't see all of them.

The theme park isn't based on Harry. It's based on the series of Harry Potter.
Anyways, if Rowling didn't kill off Harry, do you realize how many people would be bugging her to make another book? Too many to count.

None of those factors should be included in the ending to the series. It should be what she feels is the best conclusion, nothing else.

Not many at all. =| If Voldemort dies, Harry is no longer in need to save the world or anything like that. Rowling has stated she will detail what happens to the surviving characters in the last chapter, so if she talks about what happens to Harry, people wouldn't beg for another book.

Edit: Has anyone considered the possibility that all the main characters die and Voldemort rules the world? :P

I'd love it to end like that. XD To be honest I've always thought of Harry as an idiot. We spend a lot of time in his mind in the books and there just doesn't seem to be a lot going on there. :P I guess this means I'm rooting for Voldemort, the man with the plan. Just imagine the riot that would ensue after one perceived "evil" defeats one perceived "good" in the climax of what is currently the most popular book series in the world. XD Religious extremists would probably try to have the thing banned by branding it as "satanism". :P

Harry has always gotten on my nerves as well. He isn't that great at making decisions, and sometimes his personality just annoys me. Of course, I don't want him to die though.

They've already tried to do that a few years ago, I read some article about them burning HP books and stuff, it was dumb.

You say that because you get to observe his life from an outside view, and have all the time in the world to review his decisions and be critical of them. He doesn't. You can't expect a teenage boy to use logic and reason in every moment of his life, most don't. It's called being human.

Most of the things I am talking about are pretty much common sense. Of course he is in tough situations a lot of the time, but in some instances in the books, I just think it would have been obvious to come at the situation in a different way.

I do agree with you somewhat, though.

Like what? The only time that struck me as purely stupid was at the end of SS, trying to stop Voldemort from getting the stone. However, he had no idea what he was getting into. In CS and OOTP, he rushed into the chamber and the ministry, to protect someone - which probably clouded logic.

They're mainly the smaller things. :P If I were Harry, I would tell Dumbledore how unfair Snape was - taking away all those points from Gryffindor all the time for no reason and giving detentions for no reason. I dislike tattletales, but this is slightly different. I can't think of more at the moment, but I know there are more. :P

I've never really liked Harry, to be honest, but I suppose that's the way Rowling made him. You don't really like him, but you don't hate him. I start to dislike Harry in OOTP and HBP, where you see his mood swing extremely fast, he's too moody. I know he's stressed and a teenager, but really, that's a bit much.

My favourite characters are Hermione, Ginny and Sirius.

It's more than just being a teenager, think about his life in general. I'd be moody if I had terrible guardians, my only father figure was killed, for an entire year everyone thought I was insane, and the most powerful dark wizard of all time wanted me dead. None of that is very fun.
