If you're single and looking at pornography all day, then I suggest maybe getting off your butt and actually trying to find someone who you could fall in love with. What ever happened to patience? If you're too lazy to go out and find someone, and enjoy your pornography more, then I don't call that safe sex; I call that sad.

lol what? You talk about going out and finding someone to fall in "love" with (recheck definition of loev, step one btw), then try to lecture us about patience?

You've been fumbling this argument from the beginning, you lost when you said:

Legally, there's nothing wrong with it, and to be honest, the only way I can really combat that is with morals. I believe that making money off of sex is wrong. Sex is meant to be private within a loving relationship; it's not meant to be broadcasted across the world.

now you're going out on a limb about how "intarnet pronography causes rape lol!" (for what reason you went from "well... I guess I just believe something that others do not, and there's no use forcing it on anyone, and there's nothing legally wrong with it" to "yeah, that **** causes rape no good!!!", I do not know)

Can we conclude you're talking out of your ass already? It's blatantly obvious that you are. And make note that i have no problem with your personal beliefs, I won't tread on them, but when you force or even propose forcing it on others, you become the stereotypical dumb**** American Christian that nobody but themselves like.

I'm simply supporting my moral arguments. There's nothing legally wrong with it. Pornography is legal (in most cases), but that doesn't make it right.

And obviously, I know the process of falling in love takes time, but pornography won't help the process. You at least have to get out. Learn more about real people, and not those fake porn stars.

Okay, I might've been a bit extreme when I said pornograhy causes rape, but eventually, some people won't be completely satisfied with just looking at porn. They're going to want to go out and have some real intercoarse.

And I'm not trying to force my beliefs on anyone. Like I said, I'm giving an opinion, and supporting it, just like you. I don't understand how Christians are bombarded with people shouting at them about how they're forcing their beliefs on others, but they don't realize that they're forcing their beliefs on Christians, too. I think there's a lot more force to make the world secular than there is force to make the world Christian.

If what you said came true, and more people were out there looking for love, very few would be looking for the same love you are. Most would be one night stands. It'd just be to have a good time. Not to mention abortions would sky rocket.

The people you are trying to get to stop watching porn aren't Christian, so why would they care?

This mostly comes from religious people (not just Christians mind you) wanting their moral beliefs made law. Making something secular does not prevent the practice of religious morality, however making laws that uphold religious morality does indeed prevent the [legal] practice of such behaviors that are acceptable to non-religious (or even just different religious) people. This is why I emphasize it is important to make a distinction between what you find morally wrong and what you think should be outright illegal. And no I do not mean "well it's legal now so it's ok" but whether it SHOULD be or not. Just because something is legal or illegal does not mean it's right. I don't think anyone here particularly cares if you find pornography to be the scum of the Earth, it is when you say it should be banned based on Christian morals that they get upset. It's kind of like the debate going on in the homosexual marriage thread about upholding the Jewish Sabbath and other religious laws :)

And you've portrayed the stereotype of a know-it-all-wannabe jackass Atheist or whatever kind of non-believer you are. Congradulations, you're one of the "original few" that gets a kick out of telling some Christian off over the internet. Get yourself a cookie and feel proud. x_x

Did I? It could be worse.

There isn't anything wrong with porn. It's a natural human attraction. And if it's something weird, I'd rather you control your urges by watching it rather than actually doing it.

Besides, if porn became illegal, do you know how many people would be out of jobs?

Having a job is an important thing. But why sell something real important like virginity away? Why don't have a clean and nice job where nobody will get into trouble.

You make a good point, but when I posted my first argument. I made no indication that I was a Christian. People just assumed. In fact, not only Christians (or any people from another religion) would agree that pornography in wrong.

I've no problems with pornography, people volunteer to do it, and a hefty pay check afterwards. Some people consider it degrading, yes. But these women and men choose to do it and are not forced.

As for child pornography, yes it's a terrible, terrible thing but as far as stopping it goes I think we're a long way out. Because I imagine it's very hard to catch culprits, also most of it probably goes through secret groups that file share through IM or Pando or something direct. Not through a website, and I'm sure that's infinitely more times dificult to track.

As for under 18's having access to it, I think they should. They teach you sex-ed at the age of 11 in Britain (at least they did at my school) kids know what goes on, why does it matter if they see it?

Also, under 18 boys need it. 'Cos chances are they're not getting any! ;)
