punk-emo-rocker....i know its hell because ive lived all of my 17 years of life so far with autism.
i was diagnosed when i was 12, so i was in mainstream highschool.
i was bullied everyday since nursery, attacked often outside of school too, bullied, harrassed, etc more than "normal" kids.
i also had relation troubles at home with the brother, plus personal problems too

I know two kids who have Asperger's. I babysat one of them for a bit, and I couldn't really tell a difference between him and any other kid, but I guess there must be. The other person is a girl who's about 3 years younger than me. She really has a hard time submitting to authority, but she seems pretty normal a lot.

Ah, so you don't feel anything different in yourself, but more in people's reaction toward you?

And sorry for that as well. :/

punk-emo-rocker....i feel different in myself in the fact i know im not "normal", and i hate the fact im never going to be "normal".
ive had one or two experiences in my time where ive hated it so much being differnt ive cried at the fact im always going to be in this state of what i have, never going to be normal, never going to be treat "normal", etc.

i mean for god sake....i cant even tell if a girl likes me more thana mate! what a kick in the nuts eh

and because of not having the confidence with girls coz im not sure if someone likes me (ive been single for a bit now), i lose a lot of confidence in myself)

Dude, I suck with that as well and I'm not autistic. I know you might be a bit different but don't start blaming everything on that.

I actually think it would be cool to have sort of a "Switch" to switch betwen having mild autism and not having it, so I could think of things in multiple ways. I'd be way better at math and a lot of other things. But I really do feel sorry for people with autism, especially severe cases, because it must make life very difficult.

I've heard of it, but I never really understood what it does to people.

The worst I have is very mild OCD, but thats doesnt affect me...

unless the TV remote is on my right hand side.

Im gonna educate myself, maybe I can add some value to my post.

My 13 year old brother has it, it's hell for him to live through and it takes a toll on my whole family. So I'd like to say I know how to 'cope' with autistic people.

I also read a book (The Curios Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime) last year for the community read program, and it not only helped me see what it's like for an autistic child, but it also really enlightened people with no experience with autism in the community.

It's scary, I remember watching something as they simulated it on this guy. Seems really really really scary.

I have mild OCD and ADD I think. I mean I'm so fussy over the TINYIEST things like DVD's out of line etc. and I can't concentrate lately.

I know someone with ADHD, seems horrible, he's quite insane (not insane because he has ADHD but just does really crazy things if you get me?)

I really want to learn about Autism because I just want to know how, why and what makes you different. As in what's affected.

My Mum knows a lot about Autism and Asperger's, so I'm quite privileged. I know a guy with Asperger's, he does some really innapropiate stuff sometimes, but he's quite clever.

Apparently, everyone (or most poeple) have slight symptoms of either Asperger's or Autism, for me it's probably friction with authority; like when I know something can be done in a better way, but the person in charge is not doing so, I find it really hard sometimes to follow that authority.

yes, everyone has even a little drop of autism, even though it may not show in some areas of their life
