First of all, Welcome to the SZ! Secondly, you need to work on these. The top is the best by far, but in all cases you need to blend the render into the background and make the text flow with the signature. There are tons of tutorials in the graphics section that you can look at. Keep working on it.

Most of the guides are pointed towards Photoshop, and I use Gimp, and thanks for the welcome mate! ![]() I really thought the first looked bad but now that I have two comments now that it's really good I'll keep working at that style of image. Thanks for the comment. Any others are welcomed. |

The reason the first is getting attention is because you, at least somewhat, attempted to blend. It looks alot better when the bg and the render are one in the same, it brings more focus. You need to experiment with effects and stuff, lighting etc. You can take most of the Photoshop tuts and apply them to GIMP, but that will only get you so far. Try looking into Photoshop Elements. |

Though it looks good, it seems to have just been cut into it. It's better than what I can do! (I have Gimp 2 too btw ;)) It's that I dislike the emptiness to the right bottom.

What did you do to blend that? was it just a simple change to the opacity? Because im not sure people would class that as blending im afraid. I like the stock for the Yoshi one. Perhaps try re-doing that with more bold and vibrant colours? And submit it. Would look good in my opinion. |

Yep, what ME3 said. Maximum opacity usage makes ALL sigs look wonderful. As you can tell from his current sig, if only you'd have bared that in mind. Oh well.. |

How do you 'blend' then? Just set the layer to value? |

Well the 'simple' way is just to either use the water tool, or the smudge tool, go around your render, and even junk stuff you don't need. Just try around with some random stuff, I got a style under my belt, it's under construction.. But hey, it's something eh? GL with your other's btw.
