Hello and welcome to the (hopefully) official Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows topic. So, what do you expect from the book? If so what do you think will happen? Please, If you know what happens please do not spoil it for others in this topic. |

You're not allowed to announce what does happen, but can discuss what you think will happen... But what if what you "think" will happen, turns out to be true? Is that classed as a spoiler? Anyway, ive heard the following: Harry Potter is a decoy for Voldemort, Neville is the real person who was hurt by him...hence Neville sharing the same birthday as Harry and also having no parents. Neville was too weak however, so the wizards used Harry, a stronger wizard from a family of fellow strong users of magic to battle/distract Voldemort. However, we have noticed that Neville is getting stronger throughout the previous books and apparently even in book 6 Harry wonders about Neville. In the final book it's possible that Neville kills voldemort, but dies in the process, leaving Harry Potter shocked but alive which will keep the fans happy. Harry Potter will then be nothing but a regular wizard, go back to a normal life and no longer have to worry about Voldemort. Plus it provides everyone with a twist ending that's quite surprising. |

I'm waiting for the shocker that Harry is actually a Horcrux and that the prophecy really was meant for Neville and not Harry. Because think about it, if Harry was a Horcrux, then the prophecy stating "neither can live while the other survives" wouldn't partake to him anymore. But then it would mean that to kill Voldemort, he would have to die. But taking a bit from what Retroman said, if Neville was the one about the prophecy, then he'd have to kill Voldemort in the end, but Harry would have to die somehow too. And that would be the two major people to die in the final book, as stated in the interviews. Or this could be completely false and I'm totally wrong and two other important people die.
I don't think so, because you didn't intend for that to happen. |

People have also discussed that Snape saves Harry in some way, by sacrificing himself. This resolves the strange issues they had with eachother, even though Snape has watched out for Harry in the past. |

I can't wait to read it, you can check up all the hints, plot areas which haven't been filled and such on Wikipedia. Does anyone know what site you can see the live feed of the reading at midnight (well, one minute past)? |

Nope. Sorry. Try a Google search on it. I don't think Snape will save Harry anymore in the books, to tell you the truth. He's already done it in the first book, and spared him [only on Voldemort's orders] in the sixth. If for some reason he does save Harry, it would be in an effort to make up for killing Dumbledore more than anything. |

Well the Neville and Harry deaths and plot seem the most logical then I suppose... I know someone who's buying the book in London today, but I think they'd have to read the entire book in order to explain exactly who died and why. Rather than just turn to the last few pages. So it might be another day or more until people can fully explain the goings on in the book. |

I'm pretty sure Rowling announced on her official website that there is no other real purpose to Neville having a similar birthday and situation is that Voldemort could have chosen either Harry or Neville to kill. I believe we're going to find out exactly why he chose Harry, and I'm positive it has something to do with the 'something about Lily' we're going to find out, as said on an interview. I'm really thinking Harry won't die. However, who knows, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me, it would be a mixed theme. |

I can't wait till this comes out. See, for once Britain gets it at least 7 hours before the Americans and seeing as the book is like 600-700 pages, I should finish it by then and spoil it all for you guys.

That's right! In an interview and on her site before she mentioned that there's something special about Harry because he's got Lily's eyes! BUT WHAT?! |

I'm going to a midnight release party and planning to read it all before 7AM. ![]() @Lilix: When I first read that I thought of creepy replacement surgery. o_O XD But I think eyes have more magical properties than we take them for. |

Replacement? Ugh...how weird would that be if they undug Lily's grave and she had no eyes?! But if his eyes have magical properties, then there's no seriously magical inclination to that in the books. I mean, we've never read of spells that concern eyes, have we? I've read them all, I think I would remember that... *Anyone like the sig? SUPPORT SIRIUS. |

I read all 6 books on a dare in 24 hours. THAT left me ready to drop over though, 'cause I didn't finish until about 20 minutes short of the full 24 hours. I did nothing but sit and read all day. I plan on knowing the whole 7th book inside and out by 9 am after I get it at the midnight release. Then I will be in utter horror because the series will be over for good. |
